Stay Hungry,Stay Foolish.」这个演讲后来被广为流传，各种中译版也纷纷出现，有
些人把这句话翻译为「求知若饥，虚心若愚」，《Cheers 杂志》则把这句话翻译为「
饥渴求知，虚怀若愚」。无论如何，这些都是错误的解读。
什么叫 Hungry？
英语里不会用 hungry来形容对于知识的追求。对知识，英语用的是「好奇」(
curious) 这个字。一个求知若渴的人，叫做「intellectually curious」或是「eager
to learn」，但绝对不会是「intellectually hungry」，也极少是「hungry to
learn」。
用到 hungry的时候，针对的「成功」，也就是「hungry for success」。所以
Steve Jobs 的「Stay hungry」，根本不是叫你去求「知」的意思，他真正想说的，是
要你去不停的寻找成功，永远不知道满足。为什么？因为创业者最常犯的错误，除了做

hungry during the day while not changing my workout schedule at all - run 5
miles every other day at pace of 8 - 8:20 min. In addition, I am having
similar amount of energy intake to what I had before, and my work has been
the same. So I don't understand why I start feeling hungry about 2 hrs after each
meal during the day.
For breakfast, I have about 300 calories (2 slices of high fiber bread + 1

eastern sierra的秋天来了。不是为了贪恋秋色，只是为了捡起4年前那条未能如愿的
登顶之路,picture peak。我可以算是一个执著的人，走过的trail很少有半途而废的。
虽然回间隔很长时间，但梗记在心，终于会努力完成。Shasta, 是这样，Hood也是这样
。今天要做的是走到山顶，眺望以下风景，然后回家。
这条路在心中却不如四年前美丽，Lake Sabrina湖边的白杨树叶黄了。
blue lake依旧宁静深蓝，一如四年前。
月色下的dingleberry lake，所有呱藻纷繁都已褪去，静如心水。

Stay foolish是指不要管别人怎么说，有点“别人笑我太疯癫，我笑别人看
不穿”的意思。Follow your own instinct。当年苹果出iPhone的时候，
一堆媒体质疑苹果从没做过手机，质疑苹果奇怪的触摸屏手机能卖的动不。
当年手机出货量最大的诺基亚总裁说，we are not worried at all about an
Apple phone。五年后苹果手机占近半手机市场，诺基亚频临倒闭。 |

告诉他去了一个非常安静的另外一个世界。

在这个初秋，俺觉得很是悲伤。
俺很敬佩Steve Jobs。 敬佩他坚持自己的理想。即使遇到多大挫折也不改变。俺很欣

背景是当年读PhD的时候，实验室有位国内来的访问学者。年纪比我大很多，也比我来
的早。对我还是挺照顾的，能力不错，教了我不少实验室内外的东西，比如一些实验啊
，还有开车啊等等。现在回国碰见他，也是互称师兄师弟的。当时实验室都是老美，就
我们俩老中。
后来他要回国了，老板去中餐馆请客。点菜的时候，waiter还是waitress问要炒饭还是
蒸饭。老兄舌头来不及转，说了句“I want flied lice"。正好我们的工作和lice还有
点关系，结果哄堂大笑。
第二天，一个老美师兄（学生），问他为什么不再呆一段时间。老兄回答的一急，说成
了“My wife will be hungry!”。结果又是一阵狂笑。老兄赶紧解释说，说错了，是
说"My wife will be angry!"。
估计第一个笑话我们老中比较容易犯，所以不一定unique。
