话说我们现在版上有那么多德牧宝宝，都要感谢养德牧的老祖宗，一个西德军官，叫做Max von Stephanitz， 附上照片一张。
那还是在1889的时候， 他老人家想要培养一种既能牧羊，又能防卫，各种性能比较全面的工作犬，于是四处去看狗展。 终于， 在Karlsruhe的一个狗展中，一条中等大小，黄灰色的狼狗让他眼睛一亮。 这只狼狗非常聪明，牧羊的本领那是没话说。 Stephanitz把他买下，改名叫Horand von Grafrath。
