backswing, i believe many people can emulate as close as possible. However,
it's so hard to square the club face at the contact moment, if u copy Ben's
backswing.
The Ben Hogan's wiki talked Ben got some fade in his later stage. He
struggled the hook in his early stage. I truly believe I understand what

I like Hogan's swing in general. Comparing his swing with modern model swing
like Tiger's or Adam Scott's, I see 2 notable differences. One is that
Hogan's hip moves to the target quite a lot in down swing, Tiger or Adam
almost have no lateral hip movement. I personally found that it's very
difficult for me to just rotate hip during down swing. I just can't generate
enough power and feel too much pressure on my left knee. Pro golfers are
younger and younger nowadays. They are very flexibl |

65, striking balls into the ocean. I believe I post it here before...
I would rather try to learn from someone's swing which enables him to strike
balls so purely at age of 65 and works even after a near-fatal car accident,
than someone who hurts himself with his swing.
Tiger will be the greatest golfer of all time and there are a lot to learn
from
him but I would never learn swing from him because:

没有一个成功的。老虎都说："Two people owned their swings, one is ben hogan,
and the other one is moe norman"。

MR.HOGAN提到的DOWNSWING STARTS FROM HIP，HIP转动的时候，他的手臂会自然的DROP
到一个比BACKSWING 低很多的平面上，或者说是ON PLANE，这个时候，他只需要转动身
体，而不用担心CLUB FACE，因为CLUB FACE已经SQUARE。一个DROP，会产生IN-OUT的结
果。如果没有这个DROP，就会是OUT-IN

Hogan's swing,and failed.
I carefully read Ben's swing book and Tiger's "how I play golf." The two
share the one thing in common - fundamental. but I believe they have
different thought in terms of the swing. Ben's swing plane is too flat. In
my mind, it needs more timing control between the shoulder turn and hip, and
more manupulation of club shaft position. Tiger's swing (now and before
2002) are uprighter a little bit, |

Sergio Garcia was very much Ben Hogan like in terms of flat plane in swing.
Now he is more upright.
While Tiger used to be very upright, now he is a little flat in order to
control the trajectory according to his recently blog email.
But hard to say which one is better, having said that I don't think mimic
Tigers swing is a good idea. He is a different animal. |

That's very interesting. When I first learned that both Tiger and Hogan were
left-handed, I came up with this crazy idea: maybe the "correct" way of
swinging a golf club should be using the dominant hand as the leading hand?
Of course I was laughed at when I suggested this to a golf buddy.
Now that I learned from ET that Phil, the most famous lefty, was actually
right-handed, that crazy idea of mine doesn't sound so crazy any more. Are
we on to something here? |

Peronally, I like this book's discussion regarding posture, grib, arm

不是一定需要个特别的身体素质？”
答案很明显，如果我们不打一些特别夸张的球场，比如7200码以上的，我认为正常身体
素质的人都能做到。
Tiger Woods在他的书里“How I play golf"也有类似的说法，尽管他没指出要打在70
来杆的成绩。
另外一个问题是，”要花多少时间和精力才能把我的成绩带到70来杆的水平？“
美国的大学球员，初中的高中的球员大部分自然都能打出70来杆的水平。他们中的很多
是花了很大的时间和精力在这项运动上，比如平均每天3-5个小时，至少3-5年的球龄，
还有的时间更长。 显然对我们这些已经25+岁才开始这项运动的人，这种时间和精力的
付出都不太可能。
另外，我也遇见过些在大学时候打得很好的球员，比如我提到过的ASU校队毕业的，当
他们工作后，他们打得少了，比如 每周只能一次， 那么他们是不是还能停留 |

是，slot的hogan会跑flat拿一档，外面的外接跑go deep。港人防守
也是这样预计的。但是牌子正好将计就计。hogan虚晃了flat route，把Harrison引到
外边，然后突然往里直插。Harrison留在他的flat zone看边上外接。后面的cb转身启
动去pick up hogan，但是他站位太靠外，启动去追hogan时已经太晚了，而且也在外面
。堂哥easy completion to hogan。great design and even better recognition and

就是因为太复杂，所以只能交给时间去判断，在经过了许多年以后，仍然在被使用，仍
然受到用户好评，尤其是认为比新款更好，就可以认为是好杆子。
杆子的好坏定义好了以后，就可以定义牌子了。一线好牌子，就是经历了许多了年，出
了许多款，绝大多数都是好杆子的牌子。买这类牌子的杆子，只要知道什么型号是不能
买的就可以了。二线一般的牌子，就是经历了许多了年，出了许多款，有那么几款是好
杆子的牌子。买这类牌子的杆子，只要知道什么型号是好的，认准了买就行了。第三线
就是就是经历了许多了年，出了许多款，没有一款能拿上台面的。第四类就是历史上曾
经昙花一现的牌子，这些牌子早就不在了，但是杆子还在流传，偶尔会被人当做曾经的
经典来卖，其实是曾经的垃圾，大家千万不要上当。

次的，但后来被金主并购，慢慢就消失在视野了。
提到了BEN HOGAN这个牌子，我一直研究BEN HOGAN生平，这个牌子的质量和性能绝对是
在当时无人能及的，第一批球杆在出厂前，BEN HOGAN觉得质量没达到他的要求，他把5
万美元的球杆全部销毁重做，他的合伙人都气疯了。那个年代，大师赛的奖金才2万美
元...后来他年事已高，而且没有孩子接班，所以公司就买给别人，几经倒手，真正的
BEH HOGAN执掌时期的球杆现在不多见了，有些是后来其他公司用这个牌子做的，但质
量已经下降很多了。
现在有些一线公司，一年推两三个新品，铺天盖地的广告宣传，绞尽脑汁的创新名词，
而杆身却用的是10美元的垃圾杆身。这样的品牌，还不如四线品牌. |

言归正传，昨天看了一本中文的养狗书，上面说狗之间是有爱情的 。
使我想起了多年前我还是学生时，住在老美家里一年，他们家人人都在外地读书工作，
所以我一个人住一个大房子，外加他们的猫狗由我照顾，因为我照顾得好，他们偶尔把
亲戚朋友的狗也带来让我sit. 最多的时候有4,5只，吃住和我在一起。
话说她家的狗叫Hogan, 是公狗，他们的好友家有只狗叫Cathy, 是母狗。。两狗经常互
相串门，感情很好。
有时Hogan在睡觉，只要听到我们提起Cathy的名字，他会马上跳起来，四处张望是不是
Cathy来了。
还有Cathy来Hogan家过夜，我和两只狗一起呆一屋， 因为她家只有一张狗床，两狗
会轮流share
每半个小时，一只狗就会起身，让另一只狗睡，就这么take turn
我看得目瞪口呆，因为没人教过它们 .
不管是友情还是爱情，这两只狗让我从一个怕狗的人变成爱狗的人。可惜Hogan已经去
世，Cathy也老了。桑心。。。 |

golf swing which I like a lot.........but, he's WAAAAAAY more down the line
than Mr. Hogan........way, way, way, more down the line........but, there is
a lot of Hogan AND Moe in that swing......in fact, it's sort of a "hybrid"

我观察到Randy是很on plane, 而且他的take-away看起来也很有on plane的那个意思（
和我自己理解的某种take away check method).
我近期有2个改变（其实以前也知道，就是不断的犯各种简单毛病。），一个是make fu
ll shoulder turn, 另外一个是take away insider a little bit. 这2点Randy早就给
我说过，第2点我实在是理解不了，因为我用了很长时间从insider(看ben hogan的书）
到自己以为的某个外面（前instructor说的，never let club head goes insider you
r wrists(hands)). 所以我一直理解不了ben hogan是如何把球击直得。 就想很多人的
动作看起来很想ben hogan,但依然击不出好球一样。
我现在理解的golf swing还真的就是很简单。

看你的挥杆，PLANE比较FLAT，挺适合ONE PLANE SWING的，BEN HOGAN的Five Lessons:
The Modern Fundamentals of Golf 写的非常好。Jim Hardy 又对把挥杆区分为one
plane or two plane，他的书也挺有研究价值的。
hogan 的书里面提到要注意的地方，我实践之后，感觉挺有帮助的，有一点就是他提倡
中性或者偏弱的握杆，但大部分人其实用强势一点的比较好，因为HOGAN以前有时会
HOOK，所以弱势握杆对他有帮助。 |

，站的姿势，上杆，下杆， 随挥，完成，基本上都是一个模子， 这个模子就是hogan
定义的。
每个人的挥杆都应该有他自己的东西，这个靠看书真看不出来，即使写书的人写下自己
的心得，也未必学习的人能学会。
如果看tiger woods那本how I play golf， 我相信tiger woods 现在也不相信他当初
写下了那些。
我们也看了很多人的动作就是不好看，看Jack Nicklause的动作，Arnole Parlmer，我
看我身边的人，但一点也不妨碍他们打的不错，或者说就是很好。ben hogan， tiger
woods 的书，垫定的就是一个基本功，一个规范的东西。
当然了，就如我们都是用全国统一数理化教材考大学，后来有人进好学校，有人进一般
学校的道理一样，就看个人造化了。
