CHAPTER III
Of God’s Eternal Decree
I. God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own
will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass:[65] yet so,
as thereby neither is God the author of sin,[66] nor is violence offered to
the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second caus
es taken away, but rather established.[67]
II. Although God knows whatsoever may or can come to pass upon all supposed
conditions,[68] yet hath he not decreed ...

STOCKHOLM – Swedish prosecutors withdrew an arrest warrant for the founder
of WikiLeaks on Saturday, saying less than a day after the document was
issued that it was based on an unfounded accusation of rape.
The accusation had been labeled a dirty trick by Julian Assange and his
group, who are preparing to release a fresh batch of classified U.S.
documents from the Afghan war.
Swedish prosecutors had urged Assange — a nomadic 39-year-old Australian
whose whereabouts were unclear — to turn himsel

Fruits Of The Synod Of Dort
In evaluating the Synod of Dort and the Five Points of Calvinism which it pr
onounced, one cannot avoid recognition of the political nature of the gather
ing and the fact that the Calvinistic church leaders were acting as instrume
nts of the state in violation of the Word of God - and the state acted on th
eir behalf to punish their opponents. That Calvinists together with the stat
e falsely charged, persecuted, imprisoned, sought the death of and executed

来自主题: TrustInJesus版 - Study and Exposition of Romans 1:1-7
1:1 Paul refers to himself by his Latin (Roman citizen) name Paul (perhaps h
is cognomen), rather than his Jewish name, Saul—a change which is recorded
in Acts 13:9, 13.17 What is most amazing about Paul the author or Romans is
not that he didn’t have the rhetorical skill or intellectual prowess to wri
te well, but that justification by faith through grace should be the subject
discoursed upon by this one time persecutor of the church, legalist, and Ch

1:6 The Roman Christians should rejoice because they are among those Gentile

1:7 Further, the Roman Christians, as is the case with every Christian, are
loved by God (ajgaphtoi'" qeou', agapetois theou)—a love which he expressed
explicitly in the cross. As Paul will say in chapter 5: “But God demonstra

HISTORY OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST (1):
The Christological Controversies
(Louis Berkhof, A History of Christian Doctrines, pp. 101ff.)
Connection of Christological and Trinitarian Problems

Concerning the Story of the Adulteress
in the Eighth Chapter of John
Biblical scholars are nearly all agreed that the Story of the Adulteress (al
so known as the Pericope Adulterae or the Pericope de Adultera) usually prin
ted in Bibles as John 7:53-8:11 is a later addition to the Gospel. On this p
age I present some extended quotations from scholarly works that explain the
reasons for this judgment. On another page I give an extract f...
