今天 hiking, 总共 12.4 miles, 真得很累，感觉我们自己老了 不过也觉得很值得，
说实在的， 就像是版二说的， 一起hiking 一起累，感觉不会拿某糟糕， 谢谢组织
者， 出发排队时有种小时候春游的感觉， 还报数呢。

做了大半天的research，终于选出来一条比较符合大家期望的trail。时间初步定在本周日（12/7）。
1、Trail简介：
为了确保能看到很好的风景和眺望海边，这条trail大部分路途会在山脊上走，部分地区有树荫遮蔽，部分地区可能晒一些，这是没办法的选择，无法两全了。
Distance: 11.4 miles
Elevation Gain: 1500 ft
Hike Time: 6 hours
Difficulty: Moderate

下面借鉴了Wolfstar同学去年年初组织的plan
周六2/28日爬 Mt Wilson, 全程 14英里，中间有camping site, 体力不够可以到此为止，全程7英里。
Trailhead 1 back to Trailhead 1:
Total hiking length = 11.2 miles
Total climbing distance = 4.7 miles
Difficulty : Difficult
Casual Hiking Pace: 1.5 days
Fast Hiking Pace: 6.5 hours
全程，trailhead 1 回到 trailhead 1，爬升约4600尺
半程，大约7英里，爬升约2300尺

发帖数: 561 | 5 这周末hiking的hardcore 去三股高牛去登雪山，俺们玩休闲的也不能歇着，所以想找
一条风景优美，比较容易的trail去晃悠一下，打发周末无尽的春光。
大家经过商量选择了 Fish Canyon Falls Trail，这个trail的瀑布是LA地区最有名的，
落差有80 foot。这个trail 大约有10 miles左右，EL gain 约3200尺，是一个比较容易
走的trail。

发帖数: 2485 | 6 PS：刚想起来周六我必须去修车，保修期快到了，所以hiking只好改到周日4/11，而且路线也改为Solstice trail。抱歉给大家造成了不便。

又到面朝大海、春暖花开时节，好些日子没hiking了，这次安排一条Malibu海边路线，希望既能看海景又能看野花。周日的天气不是很好，预报有一些降水概率，不知是否会影响能见度范围，建议车上带着雨具或防水外套。如果情况好，应该可以眺望到Catalina岛和Channel岛。
这次hiking安排在Malibu beach，可以达到野花和海滨风景兼顾的效果。Solstice canyon trail位于malibu海滩北侧的山区，原本就有很好的ocean view，春天山坡上野花也很茂盛。不过看野花这种事有碰运气的成分，有可能看到很多野花，也可能啥都看不到，请大家做好思想准备，恕我老人家不对此负责。

发帖数: 47 | 13 4年前开始尝试hiking, 没想到一下子迷上了。从此这成了我们家的传统--每年8月去
hiking + camping 1周。这1周是1年中我最盼望的日子，为这1周的vacation, 我要预
先training-- 爬楼2周，为了不给lg太拖后腿。今年出了点意外，所以9月20号才去，
结果第4天的行程因为天气原因，天黑前没能下到大路上，心里好急呀！不过总算有惊
无险。
知道自己是菜鸟，今生无望成为牛人；但纵情山水，让我理解了为什么每年都有人因登
山而死，因为我一样醉心于此。
这位女士的行程其实很适合平时的training, 如果附近有这样的山，我们想必也会周末
常去走走。只是，hiking 真的是有危险的运动。回想每座爬过的山，总会有艰难的路
段，下脚时哪一下没注意到，后果都是严重的。但我们仍乐此不疲。我觉得一个hiker
死于大山上，真是死得其所。如果知道这次是不归之旅，当然没人肯去冒这个险。但问
题是，你又如何未卜先知呢？常在河边走，怎么能保证不湿鞋？

大自然中洗心冶性，顺便消减节日积累的脂肪。紧跟Justin的步伐，不过咱们走easy
version,约6 miles, < 3小时。 从parking 走到lake view, 向东上crags Rd,
Grassland Trail, 回到meeting point.
请吃适量早餐，带上美食跟大家分享。

发帖数: 217 | 15 Hiking boots我觉得还是买质量好点的鞋底耐磨的那种，再说出去hiking不单单是个鞋
要耐磨的问题，还要考虑自己穿的舒适性，是不是磨脚，还有对脚的保护等。专业的
hiking boots设计都相对专业一些，再说这种鞋不是总要更新的，还不如一次性到位买
好的。可以去REI看看，那店里总有打折的好鞋，可以关注一下。我一般看merrell和
solomon的鞋。

发帖数: 15479 | 24 别提了。我想着要按照女神的指导，从今天起，过健康的生活。所以周6也没有上网找
鲁材，就出去hiking了。
结果才知道原来比上班还累。先是来回一共5小时。余下路上走了3小时。另外，这种破
地方都没有吃饭的。全靠自己带食物。我擦，我就一瓶矿泉水。最恶心的是上厕所居然
没有水冲。跟1990年代的中国农村一样。我男的无所谓。真不懂那种喜欢hiking的女人
，这么臭的马桶她们也蹲的下去。难怪老中女生内射无所谓，都是不怕脏的人。
另外，我走的都是能开一辆车，路上铺路面的路。我最恨那种手脚并用，连爬带滚地
hiking。回家以后累的倒头就睡。今天一想，除了花了100块左右的路费，邮费，过桥
费，和吃饭钱，其他的比上班还累。
真应该像丫头那样，呆家里做菜，休息。 |

发帖数: 1498 | 31 上上周，去那个公园wawayanda，选了个4个小时候的Hiking路线，路不好走，石头多，
路又窄，树丛的枝叶也很茂密，因此也挺有意思，路边一个水塘里的一棵树被水獭啃得
跟铅笔头一样，呵呵。
风景（都是手机拍的）：
不过我hike没有什么准备，因此我被一种叫ticks的虫子吸了点血，一直到回家才发现
，从腿上把它拔下来还费了点小劲，它叮得挺牢的，叮的地方还能看见一个针眼大的小
洞。掐不死，后来我把它烧死了。听说这虫子挺狠的，吸血时会分泌一种物质让人感觉
不到疼痛，有时候头还会埋到你肉里去吸血。最好能在叮上的24小时之内拔出来，以防
感染。提醒大家hike之前还是要喷点防虫药。 |

moved to this area, there was always a ton of people on the trail - kids,
old ppl, young ppl, dogs etc.
I highly recommend this hike - the view is great at the top. |

发帖数: 72 | 39 呵呵， gorge那边 适合半天的hiking就是类似于dog mountain， Hamilton Mountain
之类的， 强度不大，往返7，8迈， 海拔上升1，2千尺的， 适合于4，5月份，天气晴
朗，野花开了的时候， 风景不错，登上山顶可以看到mt hood， mt st helens
不过这两个好多local的人都去过了吧
下面的这些， 适合day hike
eagle creek， 也在gorge， round trip 13 迈左右， 海拔上升不多， 可能也就1千
尺左右， 特点是一侧是峭壁，一侧是悬崖， 悬崖下面是creek， 适合春秋hiking，
走到6迈多的地方可以看到一个比较大的瀑布， trail从瀑布底下穿过去， 挺有意思，
如果想走两天的backpacking， 这也是一个不错的选择， trail边上有那种小的camp
ground。
强度大一些的，有larch mountain， 从multnomah falls的trail继续走，就到了larch
moutain trail， round trip 13－15 迈， 海拔上升2000多尺， 路上风景一般 |

rim to rim hiking grand canyon，推荐的时间就是late September to mid october
and late May to mid June.因为夏季，谷底温度太高；冬季，north rim会有降雪。
计划north rim to south rim,因为：A North to South hike means a shorter climb
out of the canyon. The North Kaibab trail head is at about 8200 feet. The
South Kaibab trail head is at about 7200 feet. The Bright Angel trail head,
at about 6800 feet, is the lowest of the three.
一天的rim to rim是可行的，轻装，早上4:00 am 出发，大约12.5小时，24 miles。可
参考今年5月份Los Angels |

我几年前north rim, river, north rim, same day过一次。而且columbus day那时会
比较忙，估计去不了。
north rim的campground好像还行，好像有coin-op shower。海拔高，晚上会冷，可能
要零摄氏度的睡袋。
装备的话，可以考虑water filter，emergency blanket, 急救包。其实这些也是以防
万一，用处不大。backpack(day hiking), hiking shoes, hiking poles, head light
比较必须吧。
rim to rim其实不难。只要有一定体力和毅力就能走下来。
