如果要开Dalton Highway， Fairbanks 的Visitor Center一定要去，能拿到关于路况
，住宿的信息。 Deadhorse 在Dalton Highway 388 Miles。 从Fairbanks要上Dalton
Highway要先走Elliott Highway 100多Miles。 大部分租车公司把Elliott Highway
列为Off Limit （ 踏上了这些Highways一步， 你保险关于租车（车体）那部分也就无
效了）。不过Elliott是Paved的，其实路很好。开过100多Miles，就上了Dalton。我的
车上除了一个Donut，没有其他备胎。 那种Donut一般正常路况可以开50Miles， 在

发帖数: 12294 | 14 大约一年之前，在highway上，被一小块橡胶似的物件，把俺的车头砸了一个小坑（真
坑，不是买买提上挖的）。当时看见飞来的物件不大，就没有躲闪。虽被闷响声吓了一
下，不过一晃就过了。
昨天又一次在highway上遇见侧前方车辆落物。这次是个比篮球还大的物件（天黑，看
不太清楚），于是下意识地转动了一下方向盘。
当时车速大概是75mile。高速避让，车身猛地晃了两晃，感觉两侧是车轮各自腾空了一
次，当时真吓出了一身冷汗，甚至想象出了好莱坞的飞车特技镜头。也许source code
2 就可以从这里切入了，呵呵。
学车的时候，就知道highway上不能有突然变向，也不能做last minute decision。可
是遇到物从天降，该如何处置？直接撞上，大概也和中了炮弹差不多；回避，又有飞车
翻滚之可能。也许这时候，只能听从命运的安排了。
如果在highway上遇到此类情况，撞，还是不撞？To be, or not to be?

认识一位华裔工程师，几年前退休了。
最近在聚会上遇到了，聊聊近况才知道他现在是个Highway Patrol Officer，
每周在高速上面开10个小时的警车。常常穿着警服，带着很cool的名牌sunglass，
在高速上面开来开去，看着周围的车子慢下来，很是威风。
没有Pay，只是义工，不用下车开罚单，只是吓唬人。 |

Apache Trail实际比Four Peaks Mine离Phoenix还要近，开车一个小时就能到家。从

我们飞机已经定在了jackson hole，意味着从南忘北走，然后再回到南门。
目前计划是一天从园内经beartooth highway，晚上住在red lodge。但是现在不确定是
从beartooth highway返回？还是
有别的路线计划？
我没有开山路的经验，所以特别要考虑怎么好开加安全。

看了网上的游记，很多人都做Marine highway，有点像ferry，人和车都可以拉过去，
从valdez到whitter3.5小时，然后再从whitter开车到seward（2.5小时）
有几点疑问的地方：
1.这个Marine highway是不是一个非常独特的体验，值不值的乘坐？因为它价格不便宜
，4个人加一辆车要460块。比起陆上开车到seward只节约2个小时。
2.刚才上网查了一下，marine highway还不是天天有？请问是不是这个情形？我想乘坐
的那天似乎还有？
3.如果开车去，从Valdez－anchorage－seward 这一路难不难开？

发帖数: 3155 | 24 提车的时候拿了个santa fe sport，太公四驱，操控跟RX有点像，headroom比4Runner
大，座起来还算舒服，4Runner司机座对我来说就是小板凳。。。santa fe最大的特点
是车显油耗比实测油耗高3MPG以上，是我开过的车里差别最大的
Denali highway用compact car就可以开，搓板路都没多少，不过风景实在一般，算是
基地高原吧，也许有秋色是不错。Glen
highway也很平常，跟colorao/idaho/wyoming的风光路线比没感觉特别好。但是
Richarson highway快到Valdez，经过Thompson pass的风光非常震撼，刀脊梁一样的山
峰加公路海拔高度的冰川，下次要在Valdez多住几天好好探索一下 |

晚上开Highway需要开远光灯（high beam）吗？
1. 需要：
近光灯（low beam）只能照到车速45－50mph时的安全刹车距离。
2. 不能开：
前方不远处有车的时候不能开远光灯，不管是对面还是同向。远光灯影响对方开车，如
果别的车失控，可能撞倒你的车，反而不安全。如果惹恼了德州红脖子，朝你开一枪。

发帖数: 259 | 31 新手求教，在一个很像highway的路段，限速60。为什么叫准highway呢，因为上下不是
ramp，而是有左拐或者右转only的道进出。这种路，本来我以为左道是快车道。但是我
开55在左道上，看后边有车来了，想换到右边，没想到那车自己换了，好多车，都是如
此，所以我怀疑这种左右都有出口的，是不是两条道不分快慢啊？
还有一次在荒野里的高速，限速70，我紧压限速开70，两条lane的，发现右道的车都呼
呼的超过去了，根本不等我让出超车道。因为车很少，也不存在我堵路的问题，他们开
右道，估计都有80.这岂不很危险啊？！ |

别的车还慢个5 MILE左右， 就在聚精会神的开车同时，突然发现后面跟着一辆警车亮
着灯，之前做朋友车知道警车后面跟着亮灯要PULL OVER的，结果一紧张在左边黄线就
停车了，也正好能容纳一个车位，上来警察挺生气的，好像说要给我罚单，2张一张是
什么没听清，另外一张是说我不能再HIGH的左LANE上停车，我给了他驾照和保险单，回
到车里呆了大约5-8分钟，然后还给我了驾照和保险卡，别的什么都没给我，还不让我
插嘴说话，意思说我可以打电话什么的，但是什么东西也没有给我我要怎么查询呢？我
是NJ去Delaware的HIGHWAY上，会不会有可能警车着急过去只是亮着灯要办理事情，正
好跟在我后面，我已看到后面跟着我还亮灯我就一紧张停了结果，犯错了。。
哦 对了 看他进车里很长时间不出来，我就想下车去解释下，结果左脚他出去一步还没

300MILE远的地方读博5年。LD带小孩，选择开Outback。打算买第二辆车，我主开，打
算一两周一趟，基本都是highway, 来回600Miles，估计一年要2W迈。主要考虑Sedan (
Midsize)，打算五年后换车。
1. 主要需求：（1）长途开起来舒适的，特别是对背支撑比较好的；（2）
reliability & safety，（3）长途boring,如果驾驶感比较好，有娱乐性最好.
2. 油耗方面不是太差就行。现在的Outback highway 25 左右，觉得怎么也会比这
个好一些。
3. 预算最好在3万以内，还要买房。
4. 考虑过BMW 328xdrive, or Benz C class，但5年下来迈数太高，考虑
reliability, resale, 和maintenance 费用等因素，觉得目前还不是最佳选择。
5. 住在Indianapolis附近，冬季有两个月的时间还是会下雪，可能觉得AWD还是很
重要？

To Trajan: I read that the highway might be closed due to weather; my
assumption was if the highway is open when I visit, the peak should be
accessible? Anyway, your advice taken.

To TrueCabbage: you truly water everywhere! well, that's a 7000ft gain hike
if I remember correctly. even if i can make it and make it in that season, I

发帖数: 449 | 45 Highway I-40 is pretty good from Albuquerque to Gallup.
If you can drive from OK to Albuquerque,then driving from Albuquerque to
Gallup is almost same. no big difference.
just drive carefully and slow down when you drive through mountain area.
some area in AZ is a little tough I remember.
Since it is Highway,the road is still pretty good.
BTW I drove on I-40 from from Albuquerque to Gallup many times and also
drove from ABQ to OK along I-40.
Just my opinion for your reference. |

Yea, I want to practice on highway 101, cuz it's just like local not real
highway. And I think it's more fun for the person who would like to help me
to practice.
I already practised around the test area, but I think I need more practice
during the weekend. And it's illegal to drive by myself.
And yea, I like the view on 101 and taking pictures.
Can anyone help me? I would really appreciate for that. ^_^

今年的雨水持续很久，山里的雪自然也多些，周六，开车到MtLoop Highway上转转，路
边一座座银白色的雪山，在好天气里真是壮观秀美，这里有Big Four，还有在4065附近
的几座说不出名字的，还有我们hiking目的地goat lake对面的两座，很遗憾，后者被
很浓的云雾所遮掩，效果稍差。Big Four在这里尤其好看，只要在Ice Cave附近的
picnic区域，安心坐下，就可以欣赏到眼前入画般的雪山美景，一对老夫妻就在那里已
经作了很久，他们说，山上不时地雪崩，更是一个精彩免费的show。 |

认识一位华裔工程师，几年前退休了。
最近在聚会上遇到了，聊聊近况才知道他现在是个Highway Patrol Officer，
每周在高速上面开10个小时的警车。常常穿着警服，带着很cool的名牌sunglass，
在高速上面开来开去，看着周围的车子慢下来，很是威风。
没有Pay，只是义工，不用下车开罚单，只是吓唬人。 |
