疑问
首先，在经济系读好，还是在PUBLIC HEALTH读HEALTH POLICY AND
ADMINISTRATION好？看起来经济系的走向会多一点，可以去经济学院，PUBLIC
AFFAIRS 和PUBLIC HEALTH。但是我可能去的这个学校PUBLIC HEALTH比经济要好的
多。但是句我所知，美国一共才31所PUBLIC HEALTH SCHOOL，而这个学校排名居中
，不知道这样的学校毕业好不好找FACULTY职位。学校的PROGRAM看起来还比较庞大
。另有，为什么读这个的亚裔人很少，我知道有一部分毕业生要去政府部门工作，
所以少数民族和外国人可能不好进，但是不知道FACULTY职位是不是也有这个歧视
啊。 |

我是学生, 刚来的PhD, 拿TA的工资, 本来那个health insurance是系里pay
90%, 我自己pay 10%, 但是这学期开始的时候太忙乱, 结果我错过了交钱的
deadline, 现在的情况是health insurance office的人向我要全部的钱.
我刚刚交了tuition fee, 也已经把我该交的10% health insurance 交了,
跟系里交涉了两个星期, 不知为什么系里死活不能交那90%. 健康保险那边
的人给设了dead line, 说这个是法律规定的, 同时也是学校的code, 不交
就cancel registration ! 等于现在是两边都要我自己交, 一共600多.
我觉得不爽, 为什么我错过了dead line, 本来应该系里替我交的那90%就
也变成该我自己交的了呢 ??? 我有点觉得系里在糊弄我
就想问一下, 如果我不交, health insurance office 的人是不是真的有
权利cancel 我的registration, 我是不是就马上没身份必须离开美国了?

PhD如果一直在academic混，对业界的工作定位就会不明确，所以开始投简历的时候职位
五花八门，简历也不够focus,不要紧，重要的是learn on your feet. 每一个联系你的公
司都是一条线索，可以用来找“同类项”。每一个有反馈的职位都有keyword,你应该把它
加入以后的简历中。这样简历逐渐成型（可以有多个模板），自己的目标也逐渐明确。我
有health services, epidemiology和biostat背景，开始时投任何有“health”"
research" "sas" 职位的工作，逐渐发展出几个模板。后来又发现发现epi薪水低，
biostat竞争不过专业的，而联系我的多是health insurance co. 和药厂（做consulting
的那两个也是接药厂活儿的）。于是不断修改简历，往里面码keyword, 范围缩小到
health economics，最后几个有戏的，都是与此密切相关的。

1。 monster是我的大本营，的确，很多phd工作不会在这儿登，但是这是了解公司的好地
方，尤其是对定点找工作的人，可以知道那个are |

1. 年初买过一些维生素还有小孩子的，然后 手册说 需要有医生的 recommendation
才可以报，然后我就找医生补了。 但是购买日期在 医生开的 prescription之前，这
个会有问题吗？
2. 说家里的关于health的 update 可以报，请问 装的water filter 可以报吗？

hospital应该都收Health Safety Net保险，你妈这样的情况费用全免。你找找离你家
近的。我知道的在Boston的有fenway health, whittier street health center。麻烦
是打电话约的话，约上个医生或者医生助理至少都要1个月以后了。不知道你们walk in
能不能马上看。community hospital自己不能看的病，会refer到beth isreal等大医院
，还是很好的。 |

我想问问其他的health insurance plan。我的左边膝盖可能要做手术，所以想多打听

哈。。。
1，看到说猫猫如果吃太多高蛋白，高磷，镁的粮老了就容易患肾衰，是不是？如果是
的话我比较了wellness core 和kitten health的成分表，这三项都是kitten health
低，而且它标出了ash 是6%,core没标ash. 那么为什么还是core比较好呢?(蛋白质含量
高，45%左右，但是health也不低35%左右)。然后选的时候到底蛋白质含量多少才是合
适的呢？
2，我们家小咪虽然是小流浪猫出生，可是口味还有点挑@_@人家只喜欢干粮（core和
kitten health都吃）和鸡肉味的罐头，鱼肉味的(吞拿，三文， 沙丁)都不吃-__-|||.
本来想帮它多买些不同厂家不同口味的取长补短，营养均衡点，可是这样的话选择就只
有鸡肉，火鸡什么的，会不会营养不均衡呢。。？应该肿末办啊啊啊啊。。。。
3，看到说啃生鸡翅可以清洁牙齿，猫奴屁颠屁颠的当晚就弄给她，可是她飞机耳对待
，貌似被血腥味吓到了。。放了她喜欢的罐头拌进去，人家把罐头舔干净了，鸡翅反正
是不吃的。。埃。。。

发帖数: 2133 | 43 目前在看health reserving的东西，有点疑问。首先，health reserving和p&C
reserving很像，但又有不少区别。比如p&C reserving里会有reported（incurred)
loss, paid loss的区别,还会要考虑p/i ratio.比如比较新的munich chain ladder就
是可以缩小p/i ratio的一个方法；但是，在health里好像没有reported loss这个概念
，只有paid loss,然后自己算completion factor(就是1/LDF,财险里的reported %（好
像是啊）),然后用paid loss/CF算出来estimated incurred loss,也就是说人家都用不
上munich chain ladder这么有技术含量的东西。
再有个小疑问就是健康险里算completion factor我觉得又不太像1/ldf,好像是1/(LDF1
*LDF2*LDF3....LDFn),关键是ldf这里已经是cumulative loss的了，再乘起来就挺奇怪

发帖数: 392 | 45 好不容易看到一个转public health的，很高兴。我也觉得public health很好，尤其是
epidemiology，可跟biostat相比，也许是因为很多人有身份考虑，转的人很少，我觉
得有些不成比例，也许还是了解不够多。语言方面，其实只是health management and
policy需要跟政策法规什么的整天打交道吧，像epid，environmental health science
之类的都不需要啊。 |

1. You don't have to do well in health economic to find a decent job in
industry: pharmaceutical companies, HMO, insurance companies, research
centers, government agencies such as medicare etc.
2. You can find jobs in School of Public Health, School of Public Policy,
Department of Econ and Biz School if you do well.
3. Potential research funds includes NIH, big insurance and pharmaceutical
companies

发帖数: 67 | 47 MPH包括几个方向,总的来说找工作比较苦逼,几乎都要靠既往学历或工作经验+MPH来支持
1.Epi:几年前Epi还比较容易找到药厂Pharmacoepi,stat或者研究机构的epi数据分析工
作.可是随着现在Epi的PhD或者DrPH越来越多,MPH或者MS的Epi就业形势比较严峻.还是
要结合以前已有的工作\研究经验找相关行业.如果还能继续做临床,Epi的MPH会对之后
的临床研究和晋升有所帮助.但总的来说，算是各MPH专业里面对无工作经验fresh
graduate找工作帮助比较大的了．
2. Biostat: 情况同上,但是这个行业里PhD更多而且越来越多,这个市场的竞争越来越
厉害.药厂的Health Economics and Reimbursement, Biostat等部门,研究机构的
biostat,以及一些以数据为主的咨询服务公司比如IMS,Thomson Routers等等,都需要做
数据分析统计设计的,各大CRO,比如Paraxel, Covance等等,还有保险公司,也都需要
