because the alternatives, plywood, MDF, particle boards, are simply glued
wood laminates or saw dusts; the low quality ones, especially particle
boards, deform over time and can't tolerate moisture, scratches and weight.
solid wood can be refinished when scratched or dented, but it can chip or
crack. High quality MDFs, or HDFs (high density fiberboards), can be as good
as solid wood, and are widely used in contemporary furniture manufacture. |

我的厨房就是白色厨柜，都是MDF或者HDF，外侧是白色high-gloss paint，前屋主大概
93年左右安装的，用到现没有一个地方变形，看上去就跟新的一样。
我觉得cabinet, countertop和floor tile深浅色调要搭配。如果都是浅色或者都是深
色调，就会比较单调。我的countertop是黑色，地面是灰白花纹的marble tile，我个
人很喜欢。 |

down。我是想floating的装起来会方便一点，万一个别板以后坏了也好拆。
High Density Fiberboard不会就是和laminate差不多的东西吧？我的理解是，这种板
就是烂米上下贴点实木？ |

兰秘表面是塑料，防水，不过水洒地上会从缝隙渗入hdf或者mdf，防水能力那玩艺比实

my house and all my furniture are contemporary styled. For me, I don't
differentiate modern from contemporary in furniture designs. |

1.solid wood,nail down or glue down.
对一楼concrete floor,只能glue down。
2.engineered floor. 表层是2-3mm的一层木头,下面是其他的几层木头。
可以float,但一块一块间连接要glue
3.click engineered floor. 兰迷的构造，表层是2mm的一层木头。完全不用glue.
似乎只有hdf core的能click install. |

agree, many contemporary/modern furnitures use MDF/HDF, steel and glass. it
does not mean they are poor in quality, or cheap. the design/style, color
and paint matters a lot. |

plywood based。前面一类一般要便宜一些，大概2-3美元一平方英尺。不过说实话，这
类的工程木其实还未必有laminate好。最上面的木头太薄，还不如laminate那样搞成塑
料的耐磨，抗造。后面一类工程木价格范围就大多了，有些能到5-6美元一平方英尺。 |

小学新改的，没有gym。
2）Bright Horizons East/West。我的小孩现在在附近的一个Bright Horizons。一个
月大约$1000。感觉还好。有中饭， 有gym。
3）有朋友的几个孩子在Little Bear's Child Care Inc。应该不错。我去看过，感觉
学校采光不好，显暗，就没有深入了解。
4）KinderCare。在FC有好几个点。正准备下午去看。回来汇报。
5）看你住什么地方。南边还有几个，但离CSU就远一些了。

Hi, after searching on the web for a while seems I found the solution (at
least for my problem) which seems to be pretty much the same problem you are
having.
I am using Windows 7 Build 7100, Starcraft: BroodWar patch 1.16.1. Whenever
I start Starcraft all the colors are messed up, the same description as
above and when trying to play multiplayer on Battle.net SC gets frozen....
can't move the mouse pointer, music is still playing and works.. |

1.) Locate Starcraft.exe (Local Disk (C:)/Program Files (x86)/Starcraft)
2.) Right Click on Properties of Starcraft.exe
3.) Go to Compatibility Tab
4.) Under Settings, check all boxes
-Run 256 colors
-Run in 640x480 resolution
-Disable visual themes
-Disable desktop composition
-Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
5.) Also be sure to check "Run as an Administrator" |
