If really short of cash, choose bikesdirect tiagra/sora groupset.
But for just $100 more or so, my suggestion is NEVER go below 105 groupset.
105 in my opinion is the best bang for the buck |

简单报一下设备，
路上Cannondale CAAD 10，Sram Rival/Force/Red mixed groupset.
山地:
Diamondback Mission frame, Sram Hammerschmidt cranks and X0 Rear Derailleur,
sektor fork, elixir 9 disc brakes.
Trek 4500 frame with sram x7 groupset， bb7 disc breaks.
road基本是原配，自己装上了sram red的rear derailleur 和brake caliper， 山地都
是从just frame一个配件一个配件自己组装的，all torqued to spec. 比较喜欢自己
动手丰衣足食。 |

tiagra groupset at least. look for respectful brands such as giant trek
cannondale specialized etc.
get a good pair of cycling shorts or pants which has pad. if money is not
the issue invest in a better saddle. |

road bike, 大部分都是原价，少数on sales, 大约只有 10%，一个店员神秘地告诉我
，可以给我
最低价，结果就是再降5%左右。
比如Giant Defy 3, Carbon 105 groupset, 降到最低也就是 19xx， 真可笑啊。
去看tube, 结果最便宜的要 6刀以上，没有sales.
店里转了一圈，我就决定再也不去了，网上，或者 PB forever |

Sub 3。不过这样倒是好事，作为cross training，可以让你的主要跑步肌肉得以更好
的恢复，同时保持你的心肺系统active。
至于车吗，我觉得最好去local的bikeshop，在他们on sale的时候，搞个低端的105
groupset 的铝架车就足够了，应该$700左右能搞定把，或许能更便宜。 |

take some times in research, study, know the specs, price, read the reviews
, etc. You have to have some bike specific tools to do that too. I have Park
tool AK-37 tool kit so basicly except headset overhaul or wheel building/
major truing, I can comfortably do anything on my bikes. And also when
custom build a bike you can choose the parts you like instead of the stocks

这个车$750怎么样？新的trek 1.1卖$660+tax是2300 groupset，16 speed，和这个旧

hard tail, 车重17-18lb.
现在cross country 其中一个趋势就是29er, hard tail.
前面有人已经提了，不同的目的，用的车都不一样。 downhill, enduro, cross
country. 不可否认，现在大部分人上来就是 full suspension. 按一美国同事的话说
，骑full suspension going downhill, like siting on couch.
