过去的招牌式的发型就是满头的小珠子，尽管她们决定向这些
珠子告别，但是球迷们仍然无法不把满头的珠子和她们姐妹俩
联系起来。
那么究竟有多少珠子在头上系着？
这一直是大家想搞清楚的问题，有一种很popular的说法是，
Venus过去戴着1800个，需要10个小时把头梳好。我觉得这
有些夸张，Serena说她花在梳头系珠子上的时间从半个小时
到两个半小时不等，由此可以推出前面那种1800个的说法不准确。
珠子是怎么系上发辫的？
这个我在地铁上曾经观察过两个黑人小女孩的类似发型。估计
梳理的过程如下：首先她们的头发必须按几个固定方向梳成一
缕缕的，系成发辫；然后把珠子（圆筒状）挨个往上套，最后
一个被横过来和发辫的头somehow打成结，这样串在上面的就
掉不下来了。
是不是珠子不会在打球的时候落下？
当然会，1997年的一次比赛中，Hingis和Venus的比赛中，Venus
的珠子就洒落了一地。有个官员把其中的一个给了Hingis, 赛后

背后。那里买水都是一个瓶子收6分，包括易拉罐，如果你愿意自己回收，可以拿回5

day 2: 早上出海看鲸鱼，10点返回，去haleakala national park, 没去看日出，怕冷
，一个车10块。
day 3: Hana Highway, 按照蓝宝书一个一个看景点，其中有2个地方很坑人：一个是
ching's pond, 就一个破水沟，强烈怀疑有人会跳下去游泳；一个是Nahiku,

确如此，我家两个孩子都在幼儿园里读过并喜爱这本书，就是没给我科普一下。这棵给
从小长大的男孩不断奉献出苹果、树枝、树干直至生命最后的树桩的giving tree，在
我看来就像父母之爱。当用苹果卖钱发财失败、用树枝造房娶妻失败、用树干造船远行
失败的男孩伤痕累累地回到儿时的家园时，奄奄一息的老树唯一能提供的正是他唯一需
要的——一个容他坐下歇息的树桩。故事的展开使读者对老树同情渐增，对孩子责备渐
深，累积到此高潮时突然逆转——孩子在世上打拼也不容易，不断索取未必得到快乐，

神，老已冉冉近矣，自己不但满了一个花甲，更成了复旦外文系现职教员中最年长的一

２０世纪５０年代初，内地的高等院系经历过一次大规模的改组调整。政治上向着苏联
的“一边倒”导致俄语畸形行俏，而被贬作“帝国主义语言”的英语则迭遭砍伐，直到
全国之大只剩下七八个高校英语专业为止。复旦大学的外文系英语专业是当时硕果仅存
的“七零八落”之一，更因为调入了原先分别供职于几家教会大学、私立大学和复旦以
外其他国立大学多位有经验的英语教师，一时颇有群贤毕至之盛，成为院系调整的“得

还好，我退选了还得到70个包子，还那么多，挺乐的，非常谢谢板栗树，板栗鼠，对不
起，我一激动舌头马上不灵了。
俺最早去发帖主要是要去捧PKU版的活动和知道了版主们搞征文活动的一番苦心，而发
包子是同样领会、默认、赞许了大家的捧场，（酸酸地不敢说大声）和纯洁的友情。我
看别人，相信大家也都看到了，这上网经常发帖的多多少少都有才，可不是吗？那些不
上网能长期锚在水下的更有才，因为他/她会琢磨，会分析，会判断啥时是机会，寻机
而动.....网友们有的会写，有的会侃。有人老讲能写就是才子才女，这不完全，个人
觉得口才更重要，很多会写的人不一定会侃，象谁谁谁。而会侃的有个速记秘书帮助记
录下能有精彩的长篇大论不惊人才怪。当然自己能口诛笔伐的最好，呵呵。
btw, 有时看PKU版版丝和人的对话经常会笑到晕, 那楼也常歪扭地，就象我贵Memory版

Confession time men! Where did the words for your priesthood blessings reall
y come from? I'm specifically referring to blessings of council or when exte
nding callings.
Mormon priesthood blessings are supposed to be the words of the Lord and the
man giving the blessing is speaking for God directly to the person receivin

“Are you okay?” a little voice asked.
Ray didn’t move.
“Hello? Can you hear me, Mister?” tender and crisp with a bit raised concern. It was a little girl’s voice.
Ray hardly opened his eyes and instantly closed them again. A low, muttering sound emitted from back of his throat.
