不要计较前两年的工资高低.要注重发展前景和工作的稳定.
大的IB工作比较稳定.而且提供了很好的学习平台.小的firm,而且还是做hft的,实在不
值得冒险.如果是getco,jump之类才还值得去. |

fund and principal'name, if it has 12 name, it's a decent operation. Even go
to jump or getco, you will only work with few people, you can always find a
back office quant position later. |

trading firm里面SIG大概算个什么水平. google了一下之后发现信息不多,再加上公司
本身就比较低调. 希望有了解SIG的朋友指点一二.

which is comparable to RenTech, DEShaw, and Two Sigma. They were under
Morgan Stanley but has been spinned off.
Tower Research is one of the best high-frequency trading shops. HFT firms
has higher sharpe than funds, and so they usually trade with their own money
(which is called 'prop'). Best HFT firms include Citadel, HRT, Jump, Virtu(
?), Getco, etc. |

making much either. mark Gorton is used to high sharpe strategy, low sharpe
ones are hard to survive in Tower, same happened in Getco. |

坡路。Tower和Jump的Business model比较相近，公司整体而言常胜不衰，具体的每一
个team case by case。PDT也是十分顶尖的地方，他们找人过分强调只要fresh PhD，
不屑于也不希望其他公司的策略被掺和进来。PDT spin off之后靠着投行的很多好处就
没了，但是我个人倒觉得未必会是一个很大的问题。 |

美国苏联两边抢着搬运回国，成为后来美苏太空争霸幕后 alpha research 的中坚力量。
Eladian Partners 败了，不表示 Steve Swanson 当年呕心沥血拉起来的队伍就没有价
值了（本身最后关门也是一开始 VC 逼着EP 全球多个 venues 扩张，daily business
operational cost 过高，而新研发的 trading strategy revenue 还不能支持。到后
来HFT的大气候不好，VC 中途拍脑袋改变了原先的 capital deployment commitment，
还真不能完全怪到 Management 经营能力的问题 ... 扯远了）。去年10月份 EP 要解散
的消息没出多久，有能力的前 EP 成员就被Tower, Jump, Getco, TSI, Teza 几大 HFT
列强瓜分干净了。 |
