Geotech is a supporting role in Civil Engineer for structure engineering,
transportation, environmental, water resource, and etc. Currently, most of
projects (based on funding not number of projects) are in transportation area.
For instance, your company get a project from state DOT (department of
transortation), normally this project can support a geotechnical group for
about 3 months to several years (full |

provide anything that you know.
In New England/New York Area, due to limited spaces in those old towns, lots
of tunnels/bridges.
In Central West (CO, NM...) mining industry provides many works for civil/
geotechnical engineers
In West (CA), earthquake related work.
In South (TX), petro/offshore related work. |

engineer position). For most people stay in the industry, phd is not

说可以申请工作签证，possibly subsequent US PR，
然后问了我两个个问题，
1.我以前学机械热力学的，问我放弃其他只做geotechnical会不会后悔
2.家庭情况，是不是愿意认真考虑reloacte

individuals ' performance. You need to give more information about yourself.
I don't know if you can study in any area of civil engineering like
environmental, structural, geotechnical or trasportation.
And also it is too early for you to consider green card. If you participate
one-year Master program, I would say you need at least 3-5 years to get the
green card after you come into U.S. unless you are lucky and talent to

not know much about the Soil/Structural analyses. I had Seepage analysis
already based on some rough estimations. No actual geotechnical testings
were done. This berm has been in place for at least 20 years and no damages
were observed in any of previous year due to flooding (water ponding against
one side of the berm due to flood). I just want a quick and dirty stability
