有句话叫America Was Born In The Streets(美国诞生于街头), 这个街头还
轮不到现在黑帮横行的LA或Detroit，说的大体是Boston的街头。不过Boston没
有老大已经很久了，最近的一个可以在FBI's 10 Most Wanted page上找到，名
字就叫Whitey Bulger,赏金是1 million, 可见其身价.
Whitey Bulger是爱尔兰人，据说非常智慧而且富有魅力，可惜FBI不搞排名，

Whitey在1995年被起诉，罪名不外是凶杀，勒索，贩毒一类，他在被FBI保释
出来后就和女友潜逃，至今没有下落。FBI一直认为他躲在中部的某个角落，但
这么多年没有下落，Whitey也不再有人提了，也许就可以这么终享天年。
可人有旦夕祸福，去年伦敦公映了"Hannibal",电影里面FBI Ten most wanted
都亮了亮相，让一个英国商人认出来了，说去年9月10号在伦敦街头见过whitey
Bulger。就这么把FBI引到伦敦去了，后来的调查发现他在伦敦银行里存有价值几
万的现金，而且持有一本爱尔兰护照。

现在从头说, Whitney是Irish, Irish有点类似华人,因为宗教,他们和掌握

这么NB的小伙子自然免不了牢狱之灾, 1956年，whitey和几个朋友
在Rhode Island和Melrose抢劫了两家银行，然后开始他们cross-country
的旅行，也许是逃亡，路过Chicago的时候又顺便抢了12,000美元，据
目击警察说，劫案进行的非常从容。不过，还是没逃掉，最终在Miami
被抓住。
刚入狱的时候, Whitey仍然桀拗不驯. 稍后, 1959年11月, Whitey被
转到了Alcatraz, 就是著名的恶魔岛, San Francisco Bay的小岛. 99年
秋我曾经坐SF 的cruise去过那里, 但没有在牢里实习一下.

只有直接经手的FBI探员和他的supervisor知道Top Echelon(后面
简称T.E.)的存在，到底有多少个T.E，FBI也搞不清楚，大概有400多，
光Connoly就有十名。既然是内奸，难免要做些违法的事情。FBI条例
也允许探员"authorize" T.E.犯些小罪。含糊的条例造成执行上的混
乱，没有人知道谁有权利"authorize"，什么才可以"authorize"。尽
管FBI还规定探员应该汇报T.E.的犯罪活动，但一系列相互混淆的条例，
使得FBI们可以找到理由拒绝汇报T.E.的活动，并庇护他们。既然T.E.
在为FBI工作，当然不能追究他们的犯罪，毕竟是工作需要。

Boston的冬天总是非常阴沉，Whitey也感觉到了紧张的气氛，地下纷纷传言，
与黑帮勾结的银行家们开始交纳保护费给意大利人，而不是爱尔兰人。事实如此，
为了对付Whitey, 检方重新组织了队伍来对付他，并协调好了与FBI的关系，此
时，Whitey的保护神或退休或调离。
Wyshak重新翻出几年前的旧案。早在1986年，Whitey就涉及操纵赌博的案件，
whitey的角色是组织贷款, 不过那次因为FBI的庇护没有起诉他。1991年，旧案
重提，wyshak查阅了所有相关的录音和罪犯的证言，警方窃听的录音证明赌博集
团交纳保护费给Whitey, 更重要的是Wyshak发现可以改用洗钱的罪名来起诉赌博
集团。

我就想起当初我说的加州没人敢惹越南人和柬埔寨人.因为他们很团结,而且敢和你拼命.

As a Chinese, I lived through that period of time in China. I have similar
family and educational background as hers and suffered during Culture
Revolution as a child. I think her experiences in China mostly, if not all,
are fabricated, imagined, overly exaggerated or deliberately miss leading.
If one just read the media reports about her book, he/she may think that
media might just pick the sensational parts of the book and exaggerated a

今年4月6号，加州31岁华裔女Tiffany Li（李凡妮）以价值7000万美元（4.2亿人民币
）的天价保释金被保释，消息一经传出就轰动全球。随着此事件受到越来越多的关注，
Tiffany的超级富豪家境也随之浮出水面。
2016年5月，美国旧金山湾区发生一起华人谋杀案。富二代华裔女子Tiffany Li伙
同现任男友谋杀其两个孩子的爸爸，前男友Keith Green，后抛尸荒野。美国警方曾在
抓捕Tiffany Li过程中动用装甲车。
Tiffany Li被逮捕后，法官要求保释金为3500万元，但为确保其上交的财产净值
达到3500万元，地检处要求李凡妮必须提交价值法官设定的保释金的两倍金额的财产清
单，即7000万元。近日，在李家上交400万现金以及从其家族多位亲友处筹集的6600万
资产抵押后，李凡妮终于在被捕近1年后，于4月6日保释出狱。由于担心Tiffany在保释
