Ph.D.方向做的是偏geochemistry.发了4篇一作的文章，都是领域内比较好的期刊。考
虑到家庭，倾向于博后两年后回国，可以去学校，科研机构和国企。 现在有几个offer:
1)是比较fundamental的方向，老板很牛，理论出身，我是实验出身，从实验和理论的
角度研究晶体生长。老板组里的最近1年的博后干完之后去了不错的学校做faculty。但
担心以后fundamental方向不好拿钱，虽然大牛总能拿钱，可自己拿不了钱啊。而且担
心国内fundamental是不是funding也不好拿呢？
2)是基础和应用结合的方向，大老板牛，但估计自己归小老板管，博后两年后组里的人
基本都去了石油公司。估计就是去公司了，不知道去公司的背景对自己回国有帮助吗？
3）是跟一个石油工程专业的教授做环境问题的研究，老板模型出身，我估计会实验和
模型都做。
4）是跟一个长青藤学校的小牛做geochemistry方向偏应用。我个人比较喜欢有点应用

waste of time. it's just too much risk.
once a NYSE floor trader asked me. when you go to the doctor. did the doctor
ask you how you feel first or they cut you up and check fundamentally you
have any problem. price action of a stock tell the story faster than the
fundamental change. from there on. I trade based on chart alone and only use
news and fundamental data for after the fact entertainment.

今年的return more than double S&P 500，按照Wikinvest的计算在24.2%。而且beat
掉Mass Mutual的401K，我401K选的是100% stock，而且今年没有管过，今年return只
有9.21%。欣慰的是操作还是比不操作有些用处
今年主要赚钱的股票：
FBIOX，INGR，AMGN，AMBA，F，CHRS，AAPL，BABA
主要亏钱的股票：
SCTY，DDD，EXXI
三年来主要几条心得
1.一定要炒股，而且从长期来讲，股票的收益绝对是最高的。在经历前年底至去年年初
AAPL大跌，以及今年年初的大调整后，我一度心灰意冷，想要退出。但是当时想屡败屡
战终有一天会赢，而且现在还年轻输得起之后，就一直坚守在股市里。而且如果钱少的
时候不练习，将来资产多的时候没有实践经验那更加会输得一塌糊涂。
2.一定要Diversify，不管对一只股票多么有信心，都不要把鸡蛋放在一个篮子里。我

rival的生活经验炒股出发点是fundamental的，对于防止fat tail risk是有效的；大
夫的蒙牛大法核心应该是技术指标，应该说也是有效的。我在这里的考虑是如果真有时
间又有兴趣的，或许可以结合两者，采用一种filtering process.比如说用大夫的蒙牛
大法选出技术上的好股票，然后再用fundamental过滤（自下而上的方法）。这里的
fundamental可以有多个标准，比如必须是生活中比较熟悉了解的公司，比如营业收入
和销售收入保持增长，比如在新技术暴发的情况下该公司不能是死报传统行业的（比如
13,14年页岩油技术突破了，传统石油公司和油服公司就够呛了），等等。
当然，也可以反过来先用fundamental选出公司，再用大夫蒙牛大法filter,我个人感觉
，应该是不错的策略。当然，如果真的没时间，资金又少的，就被动投资吧。 |

我的背景：在中国念的四年本科结构专业，在国内有大概十年工作经验，在美国没有念
过书也没有工作过，准备在加州申请EIT。
1. 在http://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/applicants/eit_lsitapp.shtml看到three years or more of postsecondary (college-level) engineering education，我的理解是既然board没有强调必须在美国受到至少三年工程教育，并且没有强调需要ABET认证学历，那我通过FE后，用在国内的这四年本科教育背景不需要任何学历认证就可以在加州申请EIT，这样理解对不对？
2. FE上午考试只有一份试卷，下午会根据不同专业分若干种试卷，其中学结构的一
般选civil这个分项或者general分项,就是在http://ncees.org/exams/fe-exam/显示的other disciplines，对吗？

能亲自出席今天的仪式。他的妻子刘霞或其他亲属也不能前来。因此，今天我们不会颁
发和平奖的奖章和证书。
这一事实本身就说明，授予刘晓波这项奖是必要的、应该的。我们对他荣获本年度诺贝

今天收到NIGMS director 的公开信，里面明白着说单个实验室不应该拿到超过三个R01
（除非是clinical research), 并明白指出这个动向的原因是：
1。在钱的总数有限的情况下，一个实验室拿到多的钱就会导致另外一个实验室拿到的
钱变少。
2。大实验室对博士后和研究生培养不利，因为导师的注意力被分散了。
3。从统计上来看，大实验室的成果并不和资金成正比
