博爱本来是fraternity的中译，翻回去自然就是fraternity了。
但是fraternity指的兄弟情谊，有四海之内皆兄弟的意思，译成友爱似乎更好。
Philanthropy才是真正的博爱，因为它的意思是爱广义的人，爱人类。
这个版上有些人，见一个爱一个，这种人也博爱，但是他/她们的爱只关于男女之爱，
应该叫做polyamory，是指同时爱很多人，和很多人有亲密的关系, 楼上说的Dr. Love也很贴切。 |

谈谈我所知道的吧.
这个 Phi,Beta Kappa 是一种荣誉组织,不同于大家在大学里看到的那种 Fraternity.
是在人文艺术方面有一定成绩的会员的一个联合会.加入这个组织不同于平常的兄弟
会姐妹会,是有一定的 GPA 要求的.比如对于一个本科学生,完成了 75个 academic
hours 就可以考虑申请.在 75-89 hours中你的 GPA 必须达到 3.85/4. 在 90 或
更多的 hours, GPA 必须达到 3.75/4.各学校的分会大概对 GPA 有不同标准,但
不会相差太多.如果有一个 F 是肯定不会被接受的.还有其他考虑因素,但总而言之
是品学兼优的学生才能入会的.这个是人文的,还有工程和其他荣誉组织,也是希腊
字母做名字的.所以学生在简历上放一个这个,说自己是某个荣誉学会的会员,那也就
是暗示他是个好学生了.
而且这种 Fraternity 是不分性别的.
大家在校园里看到的更多的是那种 normal fraternity/sorority.也就是 dolce mm

不能停到那个地方。因为看牌子都是写的student parking。
所以我appeal时候能不能说不是我的错，我不知道不能停，买停车牌时候卖的人也没有
说。这也是我第一次，还有我以为下午5点后学校能随便停车，再说这个地方也不是残

也没见过parking ticket长什么样，买车以后误把车停在了家对面fraternity的
private parking lot上面（当时是晚上停的车，根本没有注意有一个牌子上面写的是
private parking）。
因为自己每天上学不需要开车，而且还只有learning permit，也不能自己一个人开车
，所以也根本没注意到车上贴了ticket，结果是一个星期以后的周六才发现车已经被拖
走了，费劲一番周折把车取回来以后，发现车上面已经附有3张ticket，是警察连续3天
开出来的。
现在想上庭appeal一下，但是在填写appeal form的时候发现必须还要提供“a written
notice from the lot owner that the ticket was issued in error” 可是再联系
fraternity的人以后，他们似乎不愿意写这个notice，那么想请教一下：如果没有这个
notice还有appeal的必要吗？还有没有可能改变结果？ |

是因为他们fraternity活动太多了吗？听说UIUC的fraternity是最大的。
另外，没有看过的可能不知道，这里的aggressive assault犯罪数据其实没有意义
。因为在这里夫妻吵架一个扇了另一个一巴掌另一个气的报警了之后，按规定要登记为
aggressive assault的。所以这里的aggressive assault大部分都是这种夫妻吵架，男
女朋友闹分手这种事，但是同时也混有真正的故意伤害，所以这个数据就已经彻底没意

半装B半认真地回答，“You have no idea what happened in my high school.”
头一个月，我去上课的时候就耍贫嘴，不去上课的时候就睡大觉。只觉得口语越来越好
，结果第一次考试，数学物理两个鲜红的B，让我仿佛听见了上天大声地嘲笑。

abilities etc.), and hence the incentive problem.
In the end, Rawls' theory requires a sense of human solidarity and fraternity.
Despite all these comments Rawls' theory is still attractive to me, maybe because

奖，以表彰他为争取和维护中国基本人权所进行的长期的、非暴力的努力。挪威诺贝尔
和平奖委员会一向的观点是，人权与和平之间有着紧密的联系。人权是阿尔弗雷德&#
8226;诺贝尔在其遗嘱中所提出的‘各国间友爱’的先决条件。”
我刚才所读的，是今年 10 月 8 日挪威诺贝尔和平奖委员会颁奖公告的第一段。
我们深感遗憾的是，和平奖获得者刘晓波正被隔离监禁在中国东北部的一个监狱里，不
能亲自出席今天的仪式。他的妻子刘霞或其他亲属也不能前来。因此，今天我们不会颁
发和平奖的奖章和证书。
这一事实本身就说明，授予刘晓波这项奖是必要的、应该的。我们对他荣获本年度诺贝
尔和平奖表示衷心祝贺。
