like someone said below, US shops don't carry them exactly because the
demand volume is small. so naturally, the fish killed is less, hence the
impact on ecology is much smaller than the impact on popular
fish, like tuna,
tuna population dropped to less than 1/10 since the 60's .
so if the argument for the law is ecology protection, the first they should
ban is tuna fishing!
why it's not banned? because it's americans that eat tunas, it's american

City本身不行，相信去过downtown的人都会问一句“that's it?”。
没购物：都不用说了，被一个小小的suburb Bellevue超过了。
没吃的：最好的Canlis离downtown十万八千里，最有view的也在West Seattle，
Chinatown吃的不怎样，黑人兄弟很多，晚上走在路上都可怕。西餐最多的Belltown每
个月必有人被杀。
没文化：西岸城市都这样，西雅图更是连个正经的museum都没有。
没城建：海边架起来一个双层高速，只有噪音没有view，整个城市连个景观公园都没有
。大家可以对照一下Vancouver的Stanley Park，三藩的Fishermen's Wharf和芝加哥的
Millennium Park。
整个downtown实际上就靠一个农贸市场在撑场。 |

I heard many years ago a Fort Worth Chinese Restaurant used to have a famous
dish, called Steamed Wild White Bass! They bought those fish from the
fishermen and somehow was reported! Then they got a HUGE FINE and the
restaurant was forced to shut down! |

1) Google nearby fishing map and choose a few locations
2) In the early morning, drive to those locations and if you see some
fishermen , then go to talk to them to see if they catch any?
3) If you think that is the good location with lots of fish, then copy what
those fishmen do, figure out what type of fishing poles they use etc
4) That is it! |

大家最常去的 Middle Provo river 就在 Jordanelle Reservoir 下游，有可能那里的
brown trout 也含过量 mercury，虽然不能确定，但是孕妇和小孩还是不要吃那里钓
上来的鱼以防万一。唉，最近我可真吃了不少啊，以后还是多 catch and release, 要
吃也只吃中小鱼，而且要少吃为妙。

一日食鱼，忽发感慨：这么一条 magnificent wild brown trout（就是前几天BSO过照
片的那个18 incher），survived all the odds in the wild, 不知几年才长到这么大
，就这样insignificantly 被我吃下肚了，而且说实话大brown trout 也不怎么好吃，
真是太不值了，如果活着再过几年不知能长到多大。于是萌生了下次钓到大鱼不如
Catch & Release，反正trout也吃腻了，还省去了回来收拾鱼的麻烦。真正做到“game
fishing”。
周日天气甚好，于是与钓友一行两人前去一处新钓点“探险”，穿上wader 轻装上阵，

And don't go to "Yokohama".
And across from the Richmond center , 8191 Park road "Tora -Renbo" there the
sushi man used to work in "Naniwa-ya" used to be one of the best in
downtown.
If you're in Vancouver, Cambie and 15th "Shiro" ,
Main and 16th "Toshi" , these are 2 of the best sushi places in Vancouver.

we will be staying at tahoe. pretty nice for camping.
BTW: My LD and I had a pretty good time today in SF. We spent some time a
the fishermen's wharf and took a boat ride to Angle island, where we hiked
to mt. livemore. a little foggy and hazy. But still great view! |

and hold flukes. But it is still hard to get a keeper fluke from shore. Last
Saturday I got that one and only fluke after 2 hours of scups and skates
action, and left right away. Some Combodian fishermen around me got several
baby flukes on their scup hooks, and kept them anyway.
I might take a friend there this Saturday again. Forget about the catch, the

party boat一口气开出2小时, 说明近岸都没鱼了. 第一个stop, 钓到一条cod. 两年了,
再次钓到cod, 很是振奋. 第二个stop, 船就再也没动. 共钓到5-6 cod, 2 haddock, 2
pollack.
不断地缠线, 耽误了很多时间, 换成20oz的sinker. 不缠别人了, 还是被别人缠.
本来想整条带回来, 发现cooler满了, 有100lb左右. 自己filet也不方便. 只好让水手把
haddock以外的都filet了. 随后的照片有别的fishermen的收获.
cod的keeper是24", haddock 19", pollock个头都巨大. cooler内部长x宽是20"x10"
总的来说, 是个good fishing day, 在目前的情况下. |

发帖数: 522 | 34 前来参加战斗的有poof, 3K, 3K的LD，brokenrod，以及后来从Rhode island星夜赶
来的CoZec，以及striper等同志。
条件实在是比较恶劣，主要是周六晚上浪太大，满眼的都是white water，退潮以后
情况略有好转，又发生了意外情况，几年来第一次碰到警察晚上清查，把没有night
fishing permit的车全部都赶出了parking lot。
周日早上情况有好转，石头下面有些小只的striper。3K牺牲了自己的钓鱼机会给我
们做后勤工作，没有他们夫妇，我们只好垂泪到天明。poof钓到一只体验了一下生活以
后，就开始观战（我也很喜欢看牛人们在浪里战斗），brokenrod是钓鱼界的可造之才
，战斗力和战斗欲望都非常旺盛，假以时日，将会是下一个牛人。CoZec历经数年的锻
炼，战斗力和成绩都不错，而且战斗得此中乐，不思蜀，在我回到家发贴的时候，他老
兄估计还在Montauk跟鱼们搏斗。具体战绩，可以等他自己向大家汇报。

发帖数: 4571 | 35 海钓的一个主要问题是盐的腐蚀. 一般来说, 任何reel和rod 都以用于海钓. 钓淡水的
用的6’或7’的combo(reel+rod), 都可以拿来钓岸边和码头的小鱼, 或用来钓鱿鱼.
但除非特殊说明, 这类淡水常用的reel和rod在设计的时候, 都不太考虑密封性和耐腐
蚀. 所谓专门为海钓设计的reel, 主要是金属是防盐腐蚀的, 同时密封性很好.
要注意的是, 任何reel和rod海钓后, 都要用清水冲洗, 凉干. 必要时, 喷WD-40. 如果
reel进了海水或沙子, 那就得拆开, 冲洗了. 但结构复杂的reel, 拆之前要明白what u
are doing.

牌子:
penn(USA): 结构简单, 结实可靠, 维修方便, 价格合理. Penn的drag极其以及相当可
靠, 在fight 大鱼时, 不会由于过热而失灵. 总之, 深受serious fishermen的喜爱.几
乎是第一选择. 唯一的缺点就是做工比较粗糙, 手感不好. 一种说法是penn的spinning

guaranteed, but 0% landing also guaranteed, hehe. Those tarpon hang around
the dock and wait for fish remains from fishermen filleting their catch.
Huge, huge tarpons, some are probably over 100lb. The problem is that its a
dock so there is no room to play the fish. You have to horse them in with
heavy tackles. If your drag is set a little loose, they will run and tangle

it back to land from a Seaside Park breakwater, drowned when he was caught
in a strong current, others appear unfazed by the tragedy.

时，high tide的时候基本上jetty都快没了，好在不是初一十五的，high tide不是最
高的时候。那时候自己一个人在上面的确有点害怕的感觉了。
