如果是已经工作了然后结婚了，现在提也可以。
这个想法也没有错，hiring 的时候最有negotiating power, 因为他们怕你不来。过
去了之后也可以提，估计系主任会说帮你问，但是至于多卖力就很难说了，估计是不怎
么太卖力，到时候告诉你 “they don't have vacancies" 就完了。 （觉得counter-
offer 的作用也不是很大，除非你的counter-offer 里面有提到帮你spouse 解决工作
的问题，或者你的counter-offer 是可以搬到你spouse 的地方去，不然本系还是会觉
得你未必真的会走。）
所以，还是尽量Hiring 的时候提吧。 当然，不管什么时候提，除非是大牛，spousal
hire 如果是想要tenure-track 都很难解决。如果对方做行政或者technician 会比较
容易，如果要求一个visiting AP 或者adjunct position, 很可能还是有戏的。如果对

1. single unit SFH/condo.
2. 2-4 units duplex/fourplex.
3. 5-60 units apartment complex.
4. 60-100 units apartment complex.
