less than 0.23%!
48.73% FUSEX 0.1%
12.53% FSEMX 0.1%
20.99% FSIIX 0.2%
13.72% FBIDX 0.22%
That means that you can construct your own FFNOX, and it has expense ratio
of only
.4873*.1+.1253*.1+.2099*.2+.1372*0.22 = 0.1334%, 40% less than what FFNOX
charges you!
In other words, fidelity, by lumping these four funds together (something
you can do completely by yourself), secretely adds 72% more fee in expense

if I were you, I would do FFNOX 100% and then max out Roth and have
exposure to short/mid term bond, emerging stock and reit.
Or you can do
FRESX 20%
FFNOX 80%
FRESX is very expensive,but it only make sense to hold reit in tax sheltered.

yes, it is better to slice and dice on your own and find cheapest funds in
each asset class, probably etf or admiral funds from vanguard. However the
reason I recommend FFNOX is that with 401k and 403b, as in this case, you
may not have access to all the essential elements as in the case of taxable
or IRA where you decide where to open accounts. Secondly, not everyone is

，那么他们要重新把etf换回ffnox吗？如果要换的话，对于etf这个1年的临时计划来说
，你得考虑计算bid/ask spread和premium/discount。既然是fidelity 的账户，就拿
ivv 来打个比方：Bid/Ask Spread＝148.76/149.27＝0.34%，不止0.2%啊。
在我看来就算每年都要交固定10块钱，这样的管理费不会随着你的资产增加而增加，是
不会对你的compound rate造成任何威胁的，只要是好基金就不是问题。何况对懒人来
说，你要他从众多的etf中去挑选配置出一个portfolio，谈何容易，恐怕就只好放弃了。

整个spartan系列都可以啊, 你可以自己建立portfolio
选择spartan里面的large cap, extended market, international, etc
这样的缺点, 就是每个fund都有minimum balance requirement, 你需要足够的资金才行.
要想省事, 就买 FFNOX, 这个包含 60% 的 demestic, 25% international, 15% bond index. 等于你买了diversified spartan funds, 而且不需要对于每一个keep minimum balance. |

doesn't account for risks. your investment horizon is typically a lot longer
than morningstar rating system. so, it is like listing all the recent
lottery winners and say here are the great lottery pickers!

However, in reality, these other funds all have $10k minimal, that means
that you will have to have at least $83k to actually be able to mimic the
portfolio. With FFNOX, for IRA, the minimal is $2.5k.
You are right, if these funds are available through 403b or 401k, where
there is no minimal requirement, then it is doable. |

you can make sure you have more than $10000 in it to avoid the maintenance
fee. This gives you one step diversification across almost all categories (
stock,bond and foreign market). If you cannot come up with 10K, the
alternative can be using commission free ETFs from iShare to provide the
same coverage without concern for fees
For us stocks you can buy IWM and IVV
For us bond: AGG and TIP

which is 85% stock, 15% bond, a bit aggressive. OK if you are relatively
young. Fidelity equivalent to Vanguard's target date fund are called Freedom
20xx Funds. The freedom funds' expense ratio is much higher than Vanguard's
target series. My point is to buy low cost balanced fund or allocation fund
. These funds provide exposure to both equities and bonds. Buy one fund,
hold it forever, you are all set. |
