not for PC or other different-CPU based machine. so i don't think
you can install Windows and Solaris on one machine.

i used to have NT4 loader to load win98, NT, linux, freebsd la
i think you should follow these:
1. edit lilo.conf and then lilo
2. boot to win98 and type "fdisk /mbr"
3. run bootpart to generate the Menu entry for linux

firstly use DOS6.2(6.22) to fdisk the hard drive, in this
process your c: drive is FAT(that is FAT16). then install
the cdrom driver and copy a file named "mscdex.exe" to c:
drive. after that, restart your computer from harddisk and
type winnt /b. everything will be ok. |

Well, I already fixed the problem. :)
1: fdisk /mbr wont work cuz it only helps to change the boot code in MBR, not
the entire thing. So if you have a corrupted partition table, you are out of luck.
2: I used this cool utility called gpart. It auto detects your partitions,
makes good guesses(correct in my case), and you can hand edit the starting/ending
sectors as well as the partition type.
This what I did to fix the problem.

harddisk. so you can't find windows partition any more. Restore the MBR
should solve the problem.
you can use a windows bootdisk, run command
fdisk /mbr
For more security of not ruin your MBR, you may backup MBR before doing
it. Boot into linux, run command
dd if=/dev/hda of=backup_file_name bs=512 count=1 |

最关键的不包括最后两个字节的最后那64个字节，那是4个主分区表
的信息，关键是把那64个字节调整到正常的位置，清了的话，用dos
得fdisk要记住exact的柱面数etc才有可能恢复。 |

If your data is in C: drive, you have to copy them out first.
If not, you can use partition magic to delete the partition and
create a dos partition. (you can do this with fdisk, delete none
dos partition, and create primary dos partition, but do not
choose using the maximum space, it will combine your other
dos partitions.)
Anyway, there are ways to change NTFS back to FAT32, but I do not
know any way can maintain the data in NTFS. |

in command prompt window:
format a: /s/q
copy needed tools (or edit by yourself) into the floppy disk, eg,
smartdrv.exe, himem.sys, xcopy.com, config.sys, autoexec.bat, sys.com/exe,
format.exe, fdisk.exe etc.
On the other hand, you may create a bootable floppy disk using win2k control
panel->add/remove programs ....... (I cannot remember the exact place 'coz I
am not at home and am using a machine in school, no way to check it, mmd)
