我大概说说吧，三四年前的事了
我是Michael Jackson的粉丝，有一天看到有个叫falling的ID在申请Michael Jackson
版面，就回复说这应该比较难，申请个俱乐部吧，还赞助了100伪币让他开俱乐部，仅
此而已。
有一天这货私信我说想看我照片，我觉得无所谓，就传给他一张，不过要求他回传一张

发帖数: 29495 | 9 华盛顿州东部之行 （2） - Palouse Falls和油菜花田
虽然多绕了一些路程，不过没怎么影响我们的行程。我们沿着SR26一路向东，这条路笔
直，只有一些平缓的起伏，两侧都是农场和种植园，牧草，果树是最常见的了，很有趣
，有一个农场还打出中文广告，"我们的牧草远销中国"。
下一站是Palouse Falls，从90到Palouse Falls，途经Othello，在Washtucna，右转，
沿260公路南下，之后再次左转，261公路一直通到Palouse Falls。261两侧更加荒芜，
但是还会有零星的农场，让人很难想象这些人如何在这里生活。
因为是长周末，公园的门口竟然堵车了，主要是公园内的停车位已经满了，工作人员为
了保证大家出入平衡，限制新到的车辆的进入，等了10几分钟，终于让我们进入了公园
，这么偏僻的一个公园，里面如此的热闹，停车场满满的，草地上都是帐篷，数量有限
的厕所前排起了大队。
水量充沛的Palouse Falls位于Palouse River，下游4英里就汇到Snake River。整个瀑

到West Falls Church地铁站大约15分钟步行距离，地铁站附近公交车站点众多，交通
十分方便。例如去Tysons Corner
Mall，乘公交仅10分钟。
地铁站附近有Giant,超市 CVC,Staples，干洗店，各种风格的餐馆，快餐店。如果愿意
，沿着7号路（Leesburge
Pike ）步行约20分钟，还有Whole food ，Trade Joe's等超市及其他商店。
房间在二楼。二楼的另一位住户就是房东老太太，住在这件卧室对面。
房间里面有单人床，两个小桌子，两把椅子，一个书架。还有个壁橱。
二楼过道里有自己的卫生间。房东太太会share淋浴（她房间的卫生间里有马桶和水槽
，因此她不会使用过道里的马桶和水槽，只是出来洗澡）。
可以使用厨房。
200块deposit。
租金为每月550美金，包utility。但是Internet要另付15块钱。
房子6月16号就可入住，具体入住日期，可以再商量。

If there is a ledge fall potential or potential of hitting the lip of a roof
, make sure you are able to pass the dangerous section without falling, and
communicate with your partner about slack etc to fall pass that section.
Some 5.11 routes are safer than 5.10 routes. I've seen people blindly jump
onto seemingly easier but more dangerous routes. |

位于五大湖区的Niagara River连接起两个大湖：上游的Lake Erie和下游的Lake
Ontario。Niagara River遇到巨大落差形成了Niagara Falls。河水在下落之前被Goat
Island分成两个部分，分别成为Horseshoe Falls和American Falls。其中Horseshoe
Falls在加拿大境内，53米高，670米宽，占了总水量的90%；American Falls（以及
Goat Island）在美国境内，56米高，326米宽，占总水量的10%。
早知道Buffalo烤鸡翅很著名，看了买买提旅版的推荐，傍晚到达大瀑布之前先去了
Buffalo的Anchor Bar，据说是Buffalo Wings起源的地方。Bar里很暗，进门首先看到
的是无数汽车plate和悬在高处的几辆摩托。再往里走是餐厅，游客已经坐满了一半。

开船的时间表， 觉得有船的时候去， 都还应该挺好了。
我们5/28从纽约附近开车过去的， 到Niagara Falls大约下午3，4点。在Niagara
Falls State Park里面有好几个大的
parking lots, 觉得parking挺方便的。 去之前可以在网上查一下parking info. 我
们当时用的是 parking lot #2,

雨还在下，可是我们得下山了。本以为雨会变小，却反而让我们在下山时赶上
了一阵大雨。山路湿滑，周围雾气弥漫，即使开了车灯，能见度也不是很好。路过
Tunnel View的时候，我们赶紧先把车停了下来。又过一会儿，雨势渐收，阳光慢慢从
云层后面透射出来，雾气如同薄纱在山腰间飘荡。这景象和我们之前一天看到的
Tunnel View完全不同，这是雨后的旖旎风光，整个山谷宛若仙境。可能是因为雨水的
关系，今天在Tunnel View 我们不光看到了Bridalveil Fall，还看到了我们右边的“
仙乐飘飘”的Silver Strand Fall。

发帖数: 382 | 17 第四天因为天气原因，实际旅行的时间并不长，但是居然横跨了Jasper，Banff和Yoho
所有三个国家公园。
根据天气预报，这天应该是多云，正是观赏风景的最好天气。心中暗喜，以为能看到
Peyto Lake倒映白云的美景。不料早晨起来，就看到天上云层很厚。等了一会，天越来
越阴。湖景是看不成了，只好上冰川，加入Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure。
这趟Glacier Adventure印象最深的，并不是站在冰川上的体验，那时最主要的思绪就
是不要摔倒。真正的风景，是在换乘冰川专用车时从高处看到的冰川全景，Athabasca
Glacier象一条凝固的河流，从山口涌出，飞流直下，势不可挡。
回到宾馆，居然下起了雨，等了很久都没有停的迹象，索性提早吃完中饭。大堂里人头
涌动，到处是结团而来的中国游客，终于明白为什么这里的餐厅全是中国口味。从宾馆
望去，Athabasca Glacier一直倾泻到公路边，难怪成为北美最多游客光临的冰川。
雨势终于减弱，我们重新上路，沿Icefields Parkway南下。虽然是阴雨天气，Banff的

人unfriend并且删掉所有内容人就消失了，觉得形迹可疑就报告老板；两人讨论后一致
认为falling情绪低落可能要自杀，于是老板向系主任邮件汇报：someone needs to
talk to him，并附上falling的电话号码。
然后就出事了……
邮件里的主人公手机号是警察迅速找到其的重要线索。Falling在motel看到警车来了，
就打电话911自首说自己马上下去，警察不用上来了。在这出门前，还给老板写了封邮
件：sorry，Nathan.

Niagara River连接了Lake Ontario 和Lake Erie，处于Canada Province of Ontario
和 US State of New York的交界处。主体有3处瀑布组成，即为紧挨的American fall
和Bridal Veil fall及Horseshoe fall。如果身处加拿大，美轮美奂的三处瀑布一览无
余尽收眼底。因此如果你想一饱眼福的话，还是跨越国界到加拿大这边来。
由于MI与Canada接壤，人们可以任择6处通道之一驾车前往，比如著名的Detroit-
Windsor Tunnel 和Port Huron。我们一行三人周五下午2点半从East Lasing往北取道
Port Huron入加，美国海关人员还算认真，在离境处盘查了我们的护照和I－20，询问

Upper Peninsula - The fall color in the Upper Peninsula really popped this
weekend. The highlands and the interior are now peak and some areas may be
past peak. There is also very good color in regions near the the shore of
Lake Superior with near-peak to peak colors in those areas. You should be
able to find plenty of peak color this weekend and there should be peak to
past-peak color widespread for the weekend of October 6 and 7 in the Upper

一日开始所有州立公园和trail地方要开始收费，建议没怎么爬过山的朋友们趁着7月1
日以前去走一走看一看，值不值花那30块钱买年票（详情见我上个爬山帖子）。
本周推荐I90的34口的twin falls，这个将来也要收费。这个河边trail很美很容易，来
回1.5迈到3迈，夸张地讲穿高跟鞋都能走，比较适合小小孩、老人和体力不强的年轻朋
友。可以走到第一个有长椅的观景点回转，或者走到桥上甚至坡上再往回。下面还有两

发帖数: 474 | 39 今年夏天气候特别异常，整个夏季阴雨连连，犹如秋天般的绵缠，尤其周末更是惹人生厌。就在许多人对火热夏季失去耐心时，湿热的天气终于姗姗而至，且一日甚似一日的闷热，也算给这个绝望的夏季画上一个完美的句号。一向酷喜夏日的我，拽着夏天的尾巴，个个周末难以安坐家中，四处游走。这个周末，我们一路向南，朝着尼加拉瀑布的方向驶行。沿着QEW，从57号出口下来，进入南安省最富饶的农区，VICTORIA ROAD两侧每年夏秋两季各类瓜果应有尽有，草莓，樱桃，桃子，苹果等都有不同的月份向游人开放自采。受不住新鲜水果的诱惑，在一家路边店里一口气买了好几篮的水果，味道真是清香。
沿着VICTORIA ROAD一路南行，途径KING STREET不远，便是今天的目的地：BALLS FALLS CONSERVATION AREA。跟着一长一短两条TRAIL可观赏到UPPER FALLS 与 LOWER FALLS。上游两边树林密集，阴凉异常，却是蚊虫众多，UPPER FALLS上游，河域宽广，水势平缓，游人可以赤足在水上嬉戏，河的对岸却是林木陡峭。顺着河边的TRAIL伸至下游，河水或缓或急，在公园BBQ区附近河水缓慢 |

有人可能fall的次数越多, 胆子越小,有人相反
也和fall之后的后果有关系, 比如说fall了之后挂彩了, 以后肯定胆小, fall了没事,
也许就胆大了 |

结果我每次都是把右脚稍微扭一点点,虽然问题不大。
但问老师他说也不清楚什么原因。他说看到我撞墙很严重。
说可能是因为鞋的摩擦力太大。鞋先碰到墙，就会把脚扭一下。
他说最好fall的时候稍微推一下墙。
是不是我fall的时候推墙还不够，结果是垂直下去的。
鞋碰到墙的时候，身体还在往下走就扭一下脚。
如果我fall的时候推墙使劲大一些，让身体在绳子的作用下稍微悠起来点。
触墙的时候只是水平撞墙，而没有向下的运动。
是不是会好些？还是会更糟？ |

我记得我们一帮人去上lead 课的时候，有一节课就是练习fall，每人fall 5次，一次比
一次长
第一次的时候，那帮老美都扒着墙，就是不敢fall，等我上去了喊了一声falling就下来
了，然后听见旁边砰砰砰的撞墙声，他们都跟着下来了 |

发帖数: 85 | 45 很有意思，Niagara Falls竟然只是一个State Park，不过真去到那里才明白没把它列
为National Park还是有些道理的，整个瀑布其实围着山羊岛分成两支，瀑布其实还算
壮观，但若说占地面积首先不够大，再要是论及地址地貌特征又因为只有瀑布，特色不
够突出，就凭这些估计也不够NP的标准了。
清晨从Cleveland出发，开到Niagara Falls的时候已经是差不多十点多了，远远的高速
上就可以看到雾气蒸腾的场景，那里其实就是瀑布了。天公作美，一个大大的艳阳天，
让我还美美的在心里琢磨着说不定那些boat trips都会一应开放，不过真到了面前一看
，其实观景台包括瀑布底端还都结着寒冰，别说乘船了，就连观景台都没有开放。我们
把车停在了山羊岛靠近瀑布的P2 Parking lot里，从那里去瀑布其实也就只几步之遥了
。先去看的是Horseshoe Falls，呵呵，老爸看到Horseshoe Falls第一眼的感觉是：这
么小的瀑布啊，很有些失望的感觉。的确，美国这边的Horseshoe一大半都被前面的观
景台挡住了，再加上近处看不出落差的感觉，很容易让人误认为是个 |

发帖数: 89 | 46 Niagara fall的名声在外，身处近邻的我自然要去拜会一番。众所周知，该瀑布所在的
Niagara River连接了Lake Ontario 和Lake Erie，处于Canada Province of Ontario
和 US State of New York的交界处。主体有3处瀑布组成，即为紧挨的American fall
和Bridal Veil fall及Horseshoe fall。如果身处加拿大，美轮美奂的三处瀑布一览无
余尽收眼底。因此如果你想一饱眼福的话，还是跨越国界到加拿大这边来。
由于MI与Canada接壤，人们可任择6处通道之一驾车前往，比如著名的Detroit-Windsor
Tunnel 和Port Huron。我们一行三人周五下午2点半从East Lasing往北取道Port
Huron入加，美国海关人员还算认真，在离境处盘查了我们的护照和I－20，询问了我们
此行的目的。没有刁难和经历太长时间，我们驶入了加国第一站Sarnia，Ontario。此
