killed
several by an avalanche pitches up on a gully route recently in Cody. Mark
Jenkins was the belayer! He lived though. There has been horrendous snow,
strong wind and weird snow packs. The route was known to have minimal
avalanche
danger. |

发帖数: 2636 | 31 The approach from Lupine Meadow to lower saddle (4000 ft) in the first day
is probabaly 4-6 hr for me, and 6-9 hr for him according to our speed, given
we each carry a 45lb pack. Plus this area has been snowing hard for the
past 5 days and we would need crampons and ice axe if we go.
The second day would be 3000 ft elevation gain with 2000 ft on technical
terrain. (5th class and above) If we do the complete Exum Ridge.
I don't think he can handle all these, and I don't think I can handle him on |

有就是SCMA的Rock Class。你也知道，南加的SCMA不欢迎新人，要么过它的test才能加
入，象我这样的菜鸟只能上课并毕业才能带玩。我认识的老美要么有家有口，been
there, done that，对Exum ridge这样的路线提不起胃口，要么太hardcore，远超过我
现在的能力，一个rope gun solo (aid)了El Capitan，另一个搞定了Aconcagua
户外只敢lead简单的sports路线，mileage on real rock不够，lead时惊恐，I haven'
t yet took a lead fall outside。。。need to find a good way to get over it |

识的人里最快的从攀岩开始三年搞定East face。
Not as enthusiastic about snow climbing/glacier travel as before, rock
attracts most of my attention these days. |

teton爬multi-pitch还差很远。
Teton不是一个beginner friendly的地方。美国multi-pitch trad最beginner
friendly的地方还是Red Rocks。
当然Teton的风景要比red rocks好很多。你要是目标是跟guide上趟山，而不是以后能
自己爬这样的山，exum mountain guide是美国口碑最好的guiding company之一。但你
如果目标是以后可以自己爬teton这样的山，teton不一定是最好的选择。 |

but I do need quite some practice to get back to where I was. This probably
will take 3-4 months. Right now, I don't want to do any trad lead.

。当然他们不用找路，只需要push客户就行。
个绳队能省至少一半时间。Wall St最后那个leap，我们设了个fix line，中间有乔治
亚州的夫妻插进来，然后他又忘了带包，又下去拿包，光那里就折腾了一个小时。那个
时候guide带的一对一客户已经爬完下半部分跟我们重合了。

I am trying to see if it is possible to do a 1-day climb to avoid the
trouble of getting a backcountry permit. Since I will be staying in
Yellowstone, getting the permit means I have to drive 2 hours around trip to
Grand Teton the day before in very early hour. But 1-day climb seems not

至少这次没觉得permit是个大问题，我们早上七点去range station的时候一个人都没
有。从platform到lower saddle有六七个扎营的地点，我觉着总会有空的。下面的几个
营地好像都是两个party六个人的限制，lower saddle也挺大的。guide的人都住他们自
己的房子了。
