与Torcetrapib的灾难相比，Pfizer的其他新药的问题实在是要小得多。但是在
Torcetrapib失败的打击下，其他刚获批准的新药是否能够成为下一个Pfizer的
Blockbuster，对于挽回投资者的信心是非常关键的。其中一个很重要的新药就是
Exubera。
Exubera是Pfizer和法国药商Sanofi-Aventis(世界第三大制药商)以及生化公司Nektar
Therapeutics共同研发的。商品名称的寓意在于服用了之后能够恢复exuberance--健康
和活力。Exubera 其实就是治疗I型和II型糖尿病(即胰岛素依赖型糖尿病和非胰岛素依
赖型糖尿病)的胰岛素。与传统的注射式的胰岛素相比，Exubera的“创新”就是提供了
一种新的将药物传递到患者体内的 |

factory in Terre Haute Indiana.
But Lilly is still moving forward with the similar product. |

是非常关键的。（这也是Exubera的市场表现很差的一个重要原因，其它原因还有那个
inhaler有可乐罐子那么大，病人需要撕开packet混药, looks like they are doing
drugs, etc.）大约一两周前美国糖尿病协会当选主席半开玩笑的说他觉得"it's his
responsibility to talk patient out of using Exubera".
所以很遗憾，注射胰岛素恐怕是目前真正实际可行的方法。

发帖数: 213 | 5 pfizer撤销exubera并不是因为副作用，而是因为当时缺少销量，而exubera做的确实也
不够好，至少不够方便。而且价格过高。
肺癌的事情是有的，但后来发现实验组得肺癌的那几个人大都吸烟，于是是否有肺癌危
险，尚无定论。 |

really change patient's life. I think Exubera will be a blockbuster and can
achieve more than $2 billion after 2010. That is why Pfizer spent $1.5B to
buy exclusive right to the drug due to its huge potential. $1.1B in the
pharma world was almost nothing and does not worth the money Pfizer already
throw in the pot.
I believe this product will achive sub-lipitor publicity/status given the
talents and genius of the Pfize |

有，不过是inhaler (Exubera)。刚出的，比较贵。Rx only. not a good choice for

这个公司主要搞得就是这个Oral-lyn，通过口腔吸收insulin, 来治疗type I and type
II
的diabetes
我们知道insulin治疗diabetes是肯定的，但是现在都有注射的，到哪都带个针筒，很
是麻烦
所以non-injectable的insulin一直以来是大家蒙昧以求的。他们现在搞的就是通过舌
下喷雾的
形式来deliver insulin, 只要能deliver进去，药效肯定是没问题的。另外，还有一些
公司做
通过呼吸，然后由肺部吸收的药剂

Exubera, 虽然通过了FDA批准，但Pfizer最终还是停止了这个药，因为病人还是不习惯
用鼻子去
吸insulin粉末（你想想，那能舒服吗？），所以口腔吸收可能要更现实和更符合人的
习惯。
