on it. every time when you check the muffler, check the pipe just
ahead of it. it will be more than $100 to change the exhaust pipe. |

你可以去autozone问问能租到什么工具。另外，可以找local的工具出租店，
租各种工具，感觉不值得买这些东西。估计$30就把所有的工具租全了。
一定要注意，不用用蛮力去拧exhaust系列的pipe，基本上螺丝全部锈死了。
没有用处，直接cut然后焊上。我记得看过有人硬拧，车被晃下来了，
最后牺牲了。:(((((((((((
俺看了以后，就记住了，绝对不要和exhaust pipe硬耗。 |

坏了后症状十分明显,噪声大,低速无力,
大部分人发现后通常都是送一般铺子换一根oem的,
部分老鸟从网上order后自己安装,
但是通常muffler的pipe连接段已经锈的很严重,
有时即使wd40, liquid wrench轮番上阵
也不一定能奏效,每天没事下去喷也挺烦的.
最近偶的muffler也挂了,刚好在跑长途的时候发现的,
开始cruise还没啥感觉,过philadelphia的时候I-95堵的要死,
那个低速吵的偶差点背过气去.
看来是没法顶到回家了,于是到达目的地后就开始在local找铺子.
刚开始想换oem的,问问价钱最便宜109,加安装乱七八糟下来差不多170,
感觉好贵阿.遂上网查parts,没想到几个honda的网站居然报价是119加delivery,
突然冒出个想法,为啥不换个performance的呢,既然都170了,在加点爽也行啊.
于是又在local搜寻customize exhaust shop,
最后在MA的lowrence找到一间专业的muffler shop,

对车来说，本人是个不折不扣的新手，半年前才买了辆99年的camry(65000)。
大概一个月前，engine check灯突然亮了。当时挺紧张的，第二天给waters打了个电话
，让我stop by 去扫描一下code，用了5分钟，然后告诉我说是exhaust system的问题
，不影响安全驾驶;又告诉我他已经把灯关了，如果再亮的的话，就打电话"预约"修理
，平时可以随便开，不会不安全。
我又开了两天，灯又亮了；打电话预约，3个星期以后才有位子，同时又强调不会影响
驾驶。出于对waters的信任（来自版上的各位大大，以及身边的一些朋友），同意了。
上周到了预约时间，拿去给他修，第二天告诉我现在有两个code了，除了exhaust
system外，front oxygen sensor 也坏了。前一个是因为front |

把converter和前面的pipe切下来换了。几个礼拜后engine check
灯亮了。去修车铺查，说是0420 code，需要换后面的o2 sensor，
要价260刀。
回来后查了一下网上：
A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
•Leaded fuel was used where unleaded was called for
•An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
•The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly
•Damaged or leaking exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / exhaust
pipe
•Retarded spark timi |

somewhere above your CAT or exhause pipe. (PCV leaks engine oil onto your
hot CAT or exhaust)
If PCV is not in that area, it could be one of your gasket (most likely VCG
valve cover gasket) is leaking oil onto CAT or exhaust.
clogged PCV system often cause leaking VCG (because pressure building in the
crankcase). be sure to check it after you fix your PCV. (you need to not
only replace the leakage elbow but also the valv |

同时单子上面还写着 Front /rear brakes Front 15% rear 30%, 这个也是很大的问题么？毕竟是刹车阿，心里怕怕的。
因为我车子是99年的车子拉，很旧了，除了不得不换得话，我就想算了，能坚持到哪天是哪天了。现在修车的地方说Exhaust manifold leaking要将近700，brake需要将近300。这家修车铺说的问题是应该存在的，我想说我如果不修，能勉强用么？会有大的问题么？

发帖数: 59 | 38 2周前,车开出去就发现不太对劲,油门踩多了发动机声音就大,速度最多到65就停了,转
速也最多到2000.开出去30mile之后上一桥非常吃力.下去后旁边有家FIRESTONE就进去
检,大半天之后说是DIRECT FIT CONVERTER-EXHAUST,大概就是发动机出废气的焊接在一
起的一堆管子.没办法就换吧,一共花了1100.
昨天下午一开出去就发现检修灯亮了"service engine soon",就去FIRESTONE找他(离家
比较近的另一家).检测结果是P0302,说是上次换的那个EXHAUST的时候捎带把这个也废
了.建议换IGNITION COIL和SPARK PLUGS,一共要850~说是换上解决问题了再收钱,不顶
事的话免费.想想才2星期就要花2000修车,不顶事也还要另换其他零件就在极度郁闷中
先开回来了(开的时候感觉不到异常).大家懂的帮我看看到底怎么办,还是换一家修能便
宜....
那人建议我去原来那家,兴许能免个人工费啥的,不过也才80块.我也不敢上高速开(说明
书上说不能超过45)

发帖数: 606 | 39 如果发动机声大，是跟exhaust没关系的。exhaust在中段（驾驶员座位下面）和尾端分
别有消音筒。
按照我说的，你自己检查P0302，可以节省700-800刀。首先更换火花塞和coil（连接火
花塞和wire的塑料棒，插在engine顶端）是很容易的事：
- 取下引擎上的塑料盖
- 扭下coil上的螺丝
- 竖直向上抽出coil
- 用长头hex socket逆时针扭转火花塞
- all done
一个普通的火花塞在3-6刀，高端racing火花塞也才15-20一个
对于你检测cylinder2的火花塞有问题还是coil有问题：
- 将车发动
- 取出cylinder2的coil
- 如果engine run poorer，那coil没问题
- 如果engine run no change，那就是coil的问题
coil一般30-ish刀一个。 |

When you decelerate suddenly, the engine vacuum will suck in oxygen and

发帖数: 4 | 42 看到版上有兄弟问到有关更换catalytic converter 及oxygen （O2）sensor 的问题，
碰巧我最近刚换过，有用没用的，就上来说两句，希望有帮助。
首先简单说一下catalytic converter 和O2 sensor 的作用。Catalytic converter
属于exhaust system，或者说介于发动机和exhaust system 之间。它内部有两部分填
料，分别把NO和CO置换成N2，CO2以及H2O。也就是说把发动机排出的燃烧后和未充分燃
烧的有毒成分大部分转换成符合排放标准的低毒成分，减少空气污染，保护环境。因此
catalytic converter 失效是一定通不过年检的。O2 sensor 分几种，有一根导线，两
根导线或是三根的。现在的基本是四根导线，一根传信号，通常是黑色的，一根地线，
灰的，两根白色的，通heater加热，因此如果是自己想检查O2 sensor，一定要等车体

发帖数: 606 | 43 这个代码是通过在排气管上第2个O2 sensor读出来的，它通过比较在exhaust manifold
中第1个O2 sensor中测得的含氧指与第2个sensor（在pre-cat后或者cat后）对比，未
达到指定差别的就会有0420 code。一般这个sensor对行车没有任何影响，只是报告cat
工作状况（不过还要看车辆手册予以确定）。一般造成0420主要是两个原因，一是你
sensor不行了，二是你cat不行了。cat的问题可能导致尾气不达标。sensor的话换一个
就OK了。如果确定了该sensor不影响行车，你又不着急做inspection，又不愿花几百刀
换零件，那就花几刀买个O2 spacer至于exhaust pipe和sensor之间，用来fool ECU，
消除engine灯（该方法并不是100%好用）。如果这个code常在，reset ecu是没用的，
行驶一段里程后它会继续出现。 |

on Exhaust manifold. I think that maybe caused when they replaced the engine
. They explain to me because the crack, each time after the engine shutoff,
the heater cools down too quickly, to cause the sensor problem in sort
period. They told me to fix it need replace exhaust manifold and cost is
about $800. I do not want spend that much money on this old car. but hard to

你的车没把碳排出来，说明发动机里面积碳了
得送去洗engine以及exhaust system
