总统不会直接控制汽油价格，但现任总统讨厌石油，蔑称其为“过去的燃料”。可是对
没有官方车队接送、每周都要被加油站敲竹杠的劳工来说，石油不仅是眼前，也是可预
见未来的燃料。
欧巴马总统不断宣称对能源没成见，强调政策会“广纳各方意见”。
不过真正让大家看清楚欧巴马有多讨厌石油，是他否决了兴建基斯顿输油管计划，即便
这些油藏离美国很近，藏量丰富且开采容易。否决这项计划等于自愿延长我们对外国强
权的依赖，扼杀成千上万个蓄势待发的工作机会，将重要的策略性资源拱手让给中国，
破坏我们与最亲密盟友的关系，把数以亿计的油元送给查维兹、普丁和富到流油的阿拉
伯酋长们。
欧巴马吹嘘在他主政下，美国原油产量增加，进口原油减少。国内原油产量的确增加，
