i assume that visiting/adjunct are basically post doc alike. in some cases t

ones. but it is on a case by case basis. it is advisable to consult your co

academia or cannot work on the project due to eligibility problem.
It is my understanding that the role of NSF co-PI > the role of co-I in the
NIH system. NSF Co-PIs are supposed to co-responsible for NSF annual project
report (at least NSF official policy said so). In particular, the recent
updated NSF policy put particular emphasis on this PI/Co-PI issue. |

the requirements that you have met and make sure if your field is indeed
difficult to get citations for everybody. TSC is said to be easier than
NSC on citations. It does not hurt to try EB1 (except for the money). |

If the position has a research/funding emphasis, you need some improvements
in that area.

will get the same answer (or no answer at all).

more on teaching, service, and administrative duty for the department. The
ones with active funding also put more emphasis on nurturing junior
faculties/trainees for their success.

usually much higher since I did not have to stretch myself to work on more
proposals.
Most of my grants, including NSF grants, support more than one student. I

To me, I know which word to put emphasis to. I also know to raise the
tone so that others know I am asking a question, and drop the tone so
that they know I have finished enumerating things. Other than that,
intonation is so difficult to me. Some people talk like they change the

spectacular schools will have 2+1 or even less. But they tend to come with
grant requirements.
STEM fields tend to have less teaching load because their universal emphasis

3 out of 5 R21 got funded, that's pretty impressive!
but still, don't give up on your R01. don't expect to get it for your first
submission, but keep improving it, if needed, change the story or angle. if
you hit a barrier in one study section, consider submitting to another one
with overlapping emphasis.
as you are aware, the key is to have strong preliminary data. an impressive
list of publications relevant to the proposed work add a lot to your chance
of success. |
