本虾一直思索我这个著名ID是干什么用的。黄色小说只能给大家带来一时之乐，只不过
是一些三俗内容而已，揭批这世上的丑恶才是我的最爱--毕竟名声越大责任越大嘛。
言归正传，先谈谈这个系的变态政策。
博士生只要拿过系里一分钱，就不能转硕士，不论任何原因。博士生中途不给硕士。
这个系没有几个TA职位，叫兽绝大多数没有钱，但拼命找学生。老印一般不读博士，所
以绝大多数博士生都是中国人。最让人觉得这个学校欺骗人的地方是，offer letter上写的是tuition waiver + stipend，可事实上，每个学期要交2000元左右的学费和其他费用。因为加了个什么differential fee，说是什么学工程的好找工作。其实也就是学校没钱，压榨学生的。
还有我找到为什么公立大学学费这么贵的原因了，学校养的闲人太多。很多猪头老美更本没有能力作自己的工作，又不能解雇。所以这个学校一个大量的现象就是有很多graduate assistant，从学校机房的网管，到学校网页设计，到生物实验室，到财务部... 阅读全帖 |

现在我想简述一下我在美国七年求学执教的一些第一手见闻和感受。一是希望起到抛砖
引玉之效，二是给自己总结一下，为自己回国工作后和人侃教育整理一下材料。
几点说明：
1 我在21世纪初在北京某大学A学习，之后来美留学读博士（涉及学校 B C），再往后
在美国执教（大学D）。我对国内本科硕士，国外本科博士等阶段的基础科学教育（包
括学习和教学）都有一定体会，在我的系列中也会对中美的大学做一些对比。
2 我的专业方向属于纯数学（以及相当程度的理论物理）。我对实验类学科或工科了解
很少，故无法涉及这些方向。但我教过不少数学课（大学里学生最杂的课），这使得我
能大范围接触全校各个专业学生并由此感知他们的数学水平。
3 我求学的学校各自代表了中美的最高水平，我执教的也是老牌藤校。一方面我感觉到
了一流大学确有过人之处，另一方面我也看到了一些令我大跌眼镜的现象。我感到这两

07年感恩节：大峡谷(South Rim to Pleateau Point via Bright Angel trail) ，Las
Vegas and Death Valley，这次可以看作是本人自虐游的开始，当时这12miles，
3000ft的爬升，真是让我非常痛苦
09年感恩节：Valley of Fire，Lake Mead，Zion(Angel's Landing，The Narrows) ，
Bryce Canyon，这一次主要目的就是Zion的Angel's Landing，第一天去竟然有人坠崖

不知大家是否仔细看了28日国会CAPAC给ABC总裁的那封信, 在Judy Chu的网站上

用共产党的套话说，中央给此事定性为反动。
这封词藻华丽的信措辞强硬，明确的说种族问题不能用来编笑话，造成的影响超出亚裔
社区，还引用1980年代华人Vincent Chin被两个白人当成日本人杀了。信中要求Jimmy
Kimmel必须给出一个formal apology.
我们应该以此封信中的理由对ABC和JK施压。“中央”既然都有如此指示，我们应该继
续游行直到JK给个像样的道歉为止。
