ee小硕，明年5月毕业，学过学校的embedded三门课，拿到一个所谓的embedded
certificate,再加上控制，power凑够了10门课。想找embedded入门级的工作，该如何
准备。
一种方法是狂练code，钻研数据结构，算法，操作系统，计算机原理等，狂练cracking。
另一种方法是再注册个embedded的certificate网上项目，一门课缴费700左右。主要内
容就是embedded 汇编，embedded C, real time embedded等。
从找工作的角度来看，那种路径更容易些，还是需要综合以上两种方法。另外，自己学
的那些数据结构算法什么的不出现在ms课程里面，会不会不太正式，即使学会了也不会
被肯定？
希望过来人给个答案，在此谢过。 |

，很多教授喜欢把 embedded system 写进自己的research interest里面，结果你一看
他的具体研究，可能和embedded system八竿子打不着！
比较搞笑的是，有一个搞模拟天线的教授也把embedded写进自己profile里了，结果他
的研究项目除了模拟电路，就是电磁波。。。
Embedded system 到底是个什么方向呢？
我的CS的朋友认为“嵌入式，那不是底层硬件的领域吗？”
我的EE的朋友认为“纯编程的，链表你都不会用，还敢说要搞嵌入式？！”

putting it on resume but they don't solely do that. In industry, from my
understanding, embedded system engineers program the hardware(DSP/MCU) to
implement the specific algorithm for the particular function of the hardware

specific functions.

But in US, people rarely do their PhD in embedded systems, so this area is pretty good too if you have the right skills. Being in a niche area, you have a chance to get highly paid in embedded systems, but you also have a chance to find it difficult to land a job if the market is bad. VLSI is more general, and has a larger market.

CONCEPT，而不是一个SPECIFIC RESEARCH AREA。好像在EMBEDDED方向，唯一的会刊就
是ACM TRANS ON EMBEDDED COMPUTING SYSTEM，接受的文章范围就很广，软件，硬件，
处理器，NOC，SW/HW协同设计等等等。
所以真没必要琢磨什么才能真叫做EMBEDDED SYSTEM。 |

embedded的芯片设计，制作应该跟VLSI相像，可以比较。embedded system的应用
编程的话，那机会是很多。各个公司的ARM 芯片，PIC， 还有这么多半导体公司自己的
微处理器。基本上任何有点智能的独立系统，都要用微处理器，单片机，或者FPGA，这
些应用上的工作机会很多的，但是也跟模拟设计一样，各个产品的方向不一样，这样应
用的侧重点也不一样。

It is not like in software, after the software is sold, there is still lots of revenue generated in frequent updates, support and even advertisements.

发帖数: 6180 | 26 EE fresh PHD不是大牛名校，面试职位是R&D，不过其实除了研究，主要是考编程，以
及embedded system/RTOS。
早上开始做了一个ppt，大概一个小时，主要是研究相关，interview team的人提问。
接下来是一个老资格台湾工程师面试，考的比较简单，除了简历，问的是比较常规的问
题，比如reverse byte，reverse bit，然后little/big endian判断,SPI的用法，DMA
等等，C++方向问了pure virtual。总的感觉不是太难，但是第一个比较紧张，有点不
适应。还好完了之后就是lunch时间，这个台湾工程师带我开出去吃。
之后下午继续，第一个上来的是一老印，不过挺nice的，因为是在这里做contract的原
因，所以说了一些他自己对公司的看法，以及他跳来跳去的感受。问的问题没有白板
coding，就是简历问题。
接下来一个白人工程师，主要靠RTOS，他我感觉是问的水平最高的，当然也最难。首先
就问说RTOS和普通的OS（windows，linux）主要区别。我说是deterministic。他接着

software jobs because there are so many different subjects in embedded and
it covers a very broad range of knowledge other than programming. Also,
algorithm, data structures which are regularly tested in regular software
positions aren't that important in embedded software. It also depends on
what area you come from.

面试Embedded Software Engineer的一点感想：
一定要把embedded Linux搞透，很多公司都采用这种OS. bootloader, kernel
initialization, file system, TFTP, BOOTP/DHCP, NFS, 还有GDB等调试分析工具。
有些公司使用IAR, KEIL开发，其实原理都差不多，IAR, KEIL相对与embedded linux还
要简单一些，我个人的感觉是这些商业软件集成的比较好，另外封装了很多细节。

现在去找工作，到处都很压抑。今天去teradyne面试，这是3个月来面唯一的一家大公
司。
guess what， HR把上海，苏州，深圳的发音发的巨标准，他说公司去年裁了一波，现
在也是继续
outsource。
我想我不直接反对open source, 但它带来的后果之一是outsource。我找工作找的太辛
苦了。
linkedin上embedded group里的工作，看着match的很多在印度。这里面试的公司，真
正喜欢的基
本没有。
我希望做的是小的embedded device上的c++开发，比如手机的device driver,
application。
但没有protocol的经验。目前我在麻省看到的，最多的工作是c#/.net/mssql。
有做iphone/android开发的，但我没有直接经验。
你们如果做embedded device的，请帮我留心一下。哪些地方这些工作多？

of course there are many more jobs in dsp/microcontroller than VLSI.
DSP/MCU used in embedded systems is an IC job. But in US, people rarely do
their PhD in embedded systems, so this area is pretty good too if you have
the right skills. Being in a niche area, you have a chance to get highly
paid in embedded systems, but you also have a chance to find it difficult to
land a job if the market is bad. VLSI is more general, and has a larger
market.

其实再软的嵌入式也要比CS硬一些吧。
不说什么“物理化学生物，机械控制”的那种定义的概念的话，
一般最热的嵌入式应该还是在IT这个圈儿里吧？通信，计算机，各种消费电子产品。。
。这些就是您说的“纯软”的吧？
我想借LZ的人气问一下，既然嵌入式不是一个太明确的research area(虽然教授们都把
embedded system写在自己的research interest里)，假如我就是想去申请一个大学的
嵌入式项目（IT圈儿的）的话，该怎么看呢？
感觉，和LZ说的相反，很多学校：
EE里embedded-realtime都是教授们写CV用的边角料；
而CS却很给面子，把embedded-realtime当做一个专门的researcharea写在网站上。 |

发帖数: 629 | 48 小弟有一些专攻Java，C++的同学，有的是搞数据库，有的是搞网络，他们面试的职位
都是Software Engineer，而且准备起来千篇一律，有现成的网上复习材料（i.e.
Career Cup之类的）。把各种基本算法和数据结构背的很熟练就可以了。
但是对于Embedded Software Engineer，面试形式和Software Engineer一样吗？
我在google里面搜“Embedded Engineer interview”得到的基本就是40道概念题的版
本：
基本没有提及“编程算法”，没有“数据结构”，对于OperatingSystem问的多,设计到
C语言的问题，基本全都是概念。
请问过来人，Embedded Software Engineer interview 就是这样的吗？？
主要考概念，不考“Algorithm”和“Data Structure”?? |

发帖数: 4809 | 49 这个说的太在理了，embedded SW要求很多很杂，有些行业还要有相关行业的知识和经
验，比如我们公司在招embedded SW engineer，除了一大堆要求以外，还要懂我们这一
行的很多标准行规，如果没有在这一行干过有工作经验的话，一般的embedded SW
engineer的简历都被扔进了垃圾桶，但是pay的确实不多，跟那些IT公司的software
engineer比那是差的太多了，所以到现在还是没招到人，不是人家嫌钱少不来，就是人
家不够qualify。 |
