我和朋友去一家中餐馆吃饭。身后的一桌坐着一个外国人和一个亚裔。外国人声音很大
的不断说这，china如何，dalai lama如何，bbc被中国禁了很久因为报道西藏的事情，
很多藏人不愿追随达赖的和平路线之类的。我越听心里越发堵，朋友劝我说，当然是中
文，这个老外可能只是想找中国人感兴趣的话题和他对面的那个亚裔攀谈而已。我说，
（声音并不大），“then you can ask, what do you know about this? what do you
think about this? ”结果身后那桌的老外就停止了，然后很快的变了话题，变成了
天气之类的。后来他们很快买单，老外嘟囔着，I'm so embarrased about this。。。
然后就离开了。和他同行的那个亚裔后来还折返回来和服务员解释了点什么。
其实我应该高兴，因为无论如何不用再听那个让我很敏感的话题了。可是，I don't
feel good about this...也许人家并不是很激进的，可是让我很生硬的顶了回去。我

By meeting the Dalai Lama at the White House...how does that action serve
the interests of the USA; other than to cause maximum embarrasment to China?
Tibet will remain a province of China whatever happens...so there is no
real purpose.
Why do some organisations (outside China) finance separatists in Western
China to cause trouble.
China would prefer to deal with friends.

猾。现在的美国dean起码表面上文雅，人品没有什么非议之处。以前我的学校开
faculty meeting，台上中东dean和台下另外一个中东教授（他们居然来自同一个国家
）经常公开吵架。
后来和一个中东dean谈工资。那个中东dean非常傲慢。I know your dean quite well
and I know how much he pays. It is embarrasing for me to hire his professor
and I have to explain to him later when I meet him. So you need to let me
know your decision within one week.
现在要去面试的学校Dean 和 associate dean 都是印度人。
大家对印度领导感觉怎么样？

第一个老板人精一样北美有名的会计师，跟着他是累，但是学到不少东西。第二个老板
是个律师，对经济金融会计都不懂，但是人家会看大局，而且教给我怎么从
shareholder角度而不是从具体部门角度看问题。还教给我怎么管理别人和别的部门老
板斗争。
这个老板太菜了，技术不懂，人际也不灵，表达能力也差。听他会议发言我都觉得
embarrasing。。他的到来已经让几个title在他之下，能力在他之上的老人不满了。
估计我的工作内容和IT太不一样了，被一些IT小老板揶揄我也忍了。。。
总之良性竞争是大家争着往上走，而不是打压手下人。 |
