入，少数族裔，或者有发育迟缓，因此引起残障，那么这些孩子可以进入公立免费的
PROGRAM，比如HEAD START, EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION等等。所以找工作的时候
市场比较狭隘，而且你要往SPECIAL EDUCATION上面下功夫。
另外语言的重要性我就不必多言了，高中无所谓，那么低的年龄，家长肯定不想让一个
口音不准的外国人影响自己小孩语言的发展。
以前我实习ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION的时候，还有家长以我是外国人有口音为理由
，怀疑我的测试结果... 这是很让人气馁的。 |

No. To become a school counselor, you need a state licensure for pupil
services, which is going to require another XX credit hours...
And Educational Psychology is more research-oriented, and counseling is more
social work/service oriented.
I am not really sure about the career path of educational psychologist. My
former advisor was a Niu Ren in this field from Harvard, but she told me "
don't get into this field, because you won't make much money." That is
really sad... |

谁能给个大体的解释 如果去那学位 在Special Education这个方向 一般都是个什么概
念？ 比如读什么类型的课？需要做什么特殊的field work或者Project什么的？？
或者说 不读学位只拿certificate 什么的？？ |

是adult education.我觉得两个没有太大区别。很多人不看好这个专业，觉得在美国不
好找工作，但是我就是很喜欢，也觉得以后美中国际教育是很好的趋势。
读这个专业，同学都是美国人，所以口语很重要。上课时有很多group work, 要学习怎
么和美国人共同做事。还要实习，实习一般3个学分，我觉得我的实习是我上学以来最
大的收获。
我这个专业不是用来教书的，是用来管理教师和校长的，（当然在美国我们不可能做这
个）但是相信我，走进去了就会有很多机会。许多学校都希望和中国的教育机构合作，
市场前景挺好的。。。。

时间上网。 我有点想读early childhood education，然后向special education发展
，看能不能在early intervention这一块发展。看到不少case，英文不太好的小朋友去
做评估结果可能不是很准确，我就在想如果有懂中文的therapist来评估或者指导这些
小朋友会不会更有帮助。
我喜欢小孩子，也想做点有意义的事情，而不是每天做我自己不喜欢不能认同的事情。
有想法但是一时之间找不到门道，多谢大家分享经验出谋划策！ |

有人说healthcare reform以后，只不过是多了一个option, 你可以选择政府的Plan,也
可以选择自己的保险。
但是，这种选择就像public school和private school一样，选择private school和
home school的人实际是double-pay the education cost。住在NY-NJ附近的都知道为
了维持public school system, school tax有多高，但是对于还没有孩子，和不打算把
孩子送入public school的家庭（包括home schooling和private school）来说,这是一
笔完全没有回报的负担。
黑八的政府版healthcare，帽子戏法变得再好看也不能无中生有，说到底还是由tax
payer承担额外的cost，让大家出钱提供一个自己根本不会去选择的选择。
