Dwelling coverage必须基于replacement cost，而replacement cost一般就是从他们
的系统里自动算出来的，我自己无法指定数字。
只有ERIE告诉我有另外一个选择：
Dwelling coverage也可以基于functional replacement cost，我也已自己指定数字。
这样做最大的好处就是可以把保费降下来。 |

coverage提高到XXX，让签字。我怎么觉得他们乱涨价。我打电话问过具体的home
insurance公司，对方说我的保险状态一切正常。保险的policy和保险卡我都有。
现在agent又打一电话威胁说我不签那张纸，保险就会cancel了。大家有遇到这种情况
吗？我是应该不理保险代理，还是怎么办。保险如果要cancel，应该会提前书面通知的

发帖数: 616 | 3 前两年由于 Safeco 涨价，在 agent 的推荐下，就把自住房和汽车的保险换成了
Central Insurance。投资房还是留在 Safeco (由于 Central 不承保投资房)。
转了之后，claim 过两次。
第一次是汽车。当时是周六下午两点多。在事故现场打电话，接电话的竟然不是保险公
司，而是第三方。估计是个兼职的大妈，根本没法查我的 policy 信息，唯一能做的，
就是记下我所说的一切，然后等周一再把这些信息复述给保险公司。当时就震精了，竟
然有如此山寨的公司？
第二次是房屋。被冰雹袭击后，claim 保险。自住房是 Central Insurance，投资房是
Safeco。有了比较，差异就更明显了。
Central 找了 appraiser 来做评估。然后给我寄首期支票。Safeco 是寄一张支票，清
晰明了。Central 寄了四封信，其中有两封是支票。一张支票是 Dwelling (房屋主体)
，另外一张是 Other Structure (譬如 fence 等)。另外有两封内容完全一样的

估了很多家, replacement cost比我成交价的2倍还要高, 如果用replacement as
dwelling最后每年的保险超级贵(比地税还多). 考虑用cash value作为dwelling, 金额
等于我成交价, 这样基本能省一半. 既然各家保险公司都评估重建我的house费用超高,
那么cash value(after depreciation)会不会也很高呢? |

coverage 的 rebuild cost都跟房子 售价差不多了。
今天自己给Geico打电话，Geico目前的最便宜，Dwelling 比房子售价少15万，我觉得
比较合适，因为不算land value. 选1500 Deductible要920, 提高deductible到2500的
话 最后 的 premium 是 850.
大家一般 deductible一般是多少 ？ |

发帖数: 2829 | 12 现在用的Geico/Traveler insurance 马上要renew，比去年涨了10%左右，打电话请求
维持原价，不肯，只给降10块左右。昨天用homeinsurance.com报了一下价，一个NH的agent
报Tower Group的价，一下子降了200多。原来600多，现在变400多。保额基本差不多
，Tower的Dwelling比原来低了4万左右，不过它有个Extended Dwelling Replacement
Cost 25%，保额算上去比Geico还高了，其他B，C，D保额略有下降。但Deductible比原
来低，原来2500，现在1000.
准备从了。
两年前买房的时候曾经quote了4-5家，才选的geico，现在随便一找，又低了$200多，
可见这个水分之大。
Update:
今天早上又收到一个Needham的agent发过来的报价，他一下发过来3个保险公司的报价，一个600多，一个500多，一个400多是Safety，400多那个比昨天那个更便宜，保额还更高。貌似我直接找保险公司都不可能拿到这么便宜的价格。

房子本身rebuilt的估价略高。但在各大公司保费也是和你差不多。 还有些公司不保麻

DISCOUNT...LZ的保险里一样DISCOUNT都没有...
我以前的保险是STATE FARM, $490/年...

Mesa Verde National Park位于Colorado州的西南角，建于1906年，为保护公元600到
1300年期间生活在这里的古印第安人的遗址。“Mesa”指台地，平顶山。一千多年前，
一部分印第安人生活在台地的顶端，另外一部分却迁移到半山腰悬崖中的凹陷处，在那
里造房子，叫做“cliff dwelling”。然而，公元1300年左右，这些印第安人却举家迁
徙，离开了这片生活了七百多年的地方，原因至今仍是一个谜。公园里有大量保存完好
的遗迹，包括台地顶端的建筑物和悬崖下的cliff dwelling。
