发帖数: 1 | 16 我的朋友住在michigan的upper peninsula，他的太太最近怀孕了，但是没有
医疗保险。以前发生这种情况是可以申请低收入的wic和mom救助计划。wic提供
食物，mom提供生孩子的医疗救助。
但最近当地的health department说国际学生从今年7月1日起不可以申请mom计划。
但打电话给州政府，又说可以申请。我们搞不清楚国际学生到底能不能申请mom，
究竟这是当地的土政策还是州里的政策。
我想麻烦一下michigan downstate的同学们，你们那里的国际学生是否还是可以
申请mom生孩子的医疗救助？大家还知道有什么别的办法帮助没有保险怀孕的
国际学生？

在Q和M地铁站有shuttle；生活安全方便；价位合理；租房大约在5月底开始.非常感谢！

发帖数: 410 | 47 上来冒个泡，刚从SUNY Downstate的面试回来，感觉大家人都很不错，包括residents
and faculty members.毕业的住院医都找到了很好的fellowship.PD强调他们的CP很强
。就是感觉facility不够新，不过我想有历史的program都会有这个问题，只要不影响
训练水平就好。具体的请参看去年ckbb同学的帖子，我完全赞同，我肯定会把这个
program排在我的rank list 的前列。
说个小插曲，我在brooklyn的地铁里看见一个人很面熟，只见此人脑袋光可鉴人，左顾
右盼，脸带微笑，表情多有变化，略显诡异，时不时还自言自语或暗自点头。实在忍不
住上前询问，果然就是他－Dr. Conrad Fischer, Kaplan的那个step3 and step2名讲
。他也很是得意，说在这里被认出来很有点celebrity的感觉，呵呵。可惜他很快就下
车了，没来得及要他在我的master the boards那本书上签个名。 |
