. Yet, my understanding is that the bond is supposed to be California
General Obligation bond and
should not raise property tax.
Also, San Diego Unified School District is proposing to raise money by
issuing similar bond too.
Correct me if I'm wrong. |

1) it has been more than 40 years since district residents were last asked
to back a school bond.
2) the tax increases are very reasonable: $25 and $8.44 per $100,000 of AV
this is one of the benefits of being in a wealthy school district:
$25 per $100k in CV will raise $449 M, while $55 per $100k in PUSD is not
enough to repay $377 M

good a High School is. State API and/or Greatschools.org ratings are skewed
and unobjective.
Please review the calculation method they used to derive the API score in
the CA dept of education:

The API score for the school is not based on raw scores while SAT average is.
What could be more objective than testing kids on a common platform

School District offers Chinese. I believe all CV residents can opt to go to
that school. I've heard that their Chinese II class is so small, so

方面的义工目前报名较少，大家的疑问也比较多，本文在这里再次描述一下这个岗位。
观察员是干什么的？
SDAAFE的设想架构中，有大量的观察员岗位，包括学区、City、County和State各
个级别的观察员，这些观察员的主要工作和目标是什么呢？
SDAAFE这个组织设立的目标是希望集合我们亚裔尤其是华裔新移民群体的力量，大
家一起参政议政，希望在未来几年的时间内能逐渐在各个领域发出我们自己的声音。观
察员岗位就是为了这个目标而设置的。如果说我们作为一个群体以前在美国政治生活中
的状态是“盲人”，那么观察员们将是我们一双双睁开的“眼睛”，只有在“眼睛”完
全睁开之后，慢慢了解了美国的各项游戏规则，之后才能慢慢成长为我们自己的“嘴巴
”，也就是真正的参政议政，比如议员、理事，发出我们自己的声音。并且在这个成长

我们真的可以改变！！！
2014年4月25日，Deer Canyon的校长（隶属于Poway学区）给学生家长发通知，即将在
2014－2015学年从TK到5年级全面启动iPAD教学，要求家长在自带iPAD、购买iPAD、
Lease iPAD、学校提供iPAD四个选项中进行选择。然而家长对孩子在学校用iPAD有健康
的顾虑，并且孩子每天带iPAD上学放学也存在安全的隐患，对学校的方案提出了反对。
在家长的激烈反对、请愿下，通过搜集petition、约谈校长、参加学区board meeting
讲话、约谈学区board member、寻求法律援助等方式，成功地于2014年5月22日迫使该
学校校长暂停该计划。Thanks God！只要我们参与，我们不放弃，我们真的可以改变！
！！
这是政治吗？是，这就是美国的政治，大事小事都可以拿出来议议。这事关乎我们的切
身利益吗？当然！我们可以通过参与这些公共事务来改变我们的生存环境吗？这个案例
明白地告诉了我们答案，我们真的可以做到！！

San Dieguito Academy and Canyon Crest Academy are not boundary schools. They
are open to all students in the district. If the demand exceeds the school
capacity, there will be a random lottery.
the district sent out an email last month requesting public input for a

参加同样的论坛，虽然只是短短一年过去，却看到我们亚裔在参与公共事务上的巨大进
步。谨以此短文做个回顾。
一年前，我一个人凭着一股热血、一种直觉去参加这个论坛的时候，作为一名码农，完
全不知道这个论坛在做什么，学区工作人员做的介绍中用的各种术语，比如LCAP、
Common Core、CAB等也是听的不知所云，看着来参加论坛的各色人等，感觉也是云里雾
里，不知道他们除了孩子家长的身份之外，还有其他什么身份。更不用说，整个会议大
厅里，只有一两张华人面孔，连找个人商量一下都不可得，感觉自己完全是个局外人。
当时去，唯一带去的想法就是提问学区对iPAD教学的态度。当时的惶恐生涩，现在回想
起来也是醉了。
这一年平权会的工作下来得到了大家很多的支持和认可。在19日的会议上，平权会的会
员中光我认识的就有五到六人出席，更不用说其他的亚裔和华人朋友了。我们分别在各
自的议题上发表自己的意见看法，尤其是对学区的债券和新技术教学这两块更是提了很

发帖数: 1540 | 35 第二次半马， 正式成绩还没出来， Garmin掐的时间是1小时50分44秒。 这次没有
绑在鞋上的chip， 就是最后上交了一个条形码， 不知道他们怎么统计成绩的？
这次成绩比第一次慢了7分钟， 不过这次都是坡，而且拐来拐去， 所以自己也算
满意了。 因为好久没有好好跑， 这次基本就是当一个quality longrun了。
几点感想：
1。 这次组织的明显比上次silver strand差， 没有pacer, 去的路上大堵车， 没人
指挥交通。 我到的时候只有不到半小时了， 而且还要走好远才到起点。 基本刚到
就起跑了。
2。 不知是没睡好还是怎么， 跑的没精神， 前3迈就觉得跑不动。 感觉比第一次跑
得吃力， 而且没第一次那么激动， 可能第二回没新鲜感了。 多亏带了几个GEL，
感觉每吃一个就感觉打了一针兴奋剂， 可以狂奔一阵。 不知道是心理作用还是真有
用。 我这个Gel是有2x咖啡因的。
3。上坡特别费体力， 心跳加快， 大腿特别吃力。 上坡基本速度降到9分多， 狂被
人超， 下坡的时候再狂追人。 我平时也算练了跑坡， 依然比较吃力。 当时唯一要求
就是不要走。

Boston Mrathon Qualified (BQ)是一般严肃的跑马拉松的业余选手的第一个目标。
【我为什么开始跑步】
和很多从小就喜欢跑步， 大学里就是长跑短跑健将（比如白老大）不一样。 我
从小痛恨跑步，大学里测试100米， 3000米我都是拼老命才能及格， 大一的体育
课， 因为全部是素质考试， 我才得了65分。 每次上完体育课， 俺都是要死过去，
躺在床上好久才能缓过来。
俺是从去年5月份开始跑步的， 在那之前都是couch potato, 体重达到170多磅，
大肚子， 血脂， 胆固醇， 血液铁含量都严重超标 （后面附上对比照）。
其实俺家小区一直就有个小GYM， 但是俺都懒得动。 直到LD开始要减肥， 去gym
跑跑步机。 俺就跟着一起去跑（刚好里面有两台跑步机)。 刚开始最多只能跑3000米，
5.5mph的速度， 还不如LD跑得快跑得远。
配合控制饮食， 2个月多后就瘦到了140多磅， 肚子迅速没了， 觉得跑步真是神奇。
