State-appointed emergency manager Kevyn Orr on Thursday asked a federal
judge permission to place the city into Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.

DMC (Detroit Medical Center)印度医生很多.
因为目前护理实习,所以也去过一些医院(Harper, Hutzel, St. John Oakland, Garden
City, and Detroit Receiving).
Harper很大,病人太多,有点乱.
Garden City住院医培训个人觉得不好,因为我看到的几个小住院那个技术太差,例如静
脉穿刺已经穿了一半了发现导管不对,还有一次看他们穿刺把我都急死当时想还不如我
去穿呢,呵呵,可惜我现在是护士不再是医生了.
Detroit Receiving是我们Michigan的NO.1 trauma center,所以还是很强的.个人感觉

因为换了坑爹的connection，在加拿大转机不符合免签条件，只好再签一次了，顺手就
签个M-entry的方便旅行吧。看到时而不时有人问加拿大签证的问题，分享一下。
1.地方很好找，600 Renaissance Centre，只是downtown单行太多，路不太熟的话，可
能要小绕一下，无伤大雅。detroit 8am左右traffic一般，不太严重
2.到了building之后，去前台checkin一下，领一个临时的胸卡，然后等8:30.其实这个
胸卡基本没用，除了让电梯门口的警卫看一眼以外。
3.detroit领馆不收cash和personal check，不过within 1 block就有CVS办cashier

3 Detroit marathon runners die

(CNN) — Three runners died Sunday during the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar
Marathon in Detroit, Michigan, police told CNN.
All three deaths occurred between 9 and 9:20 a.m. ET, Second Deputy Chief
John Roach said.
A man in his 60s fell and hit his head, Roach said. The cause of the fall
was unknown. The man was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he
was pronounced dead.

作为一个长期潜水的老虎迷,在这样一个令人振奋的时刻,我有些不吐不快的感觉.写此
小文,向在前线奋战的老虎们致敬!
12年的输球记录,19年的季后赛干旱(写到这里才感到码字的艰辛,确切的说,是码汉字的
艰辛),说棒球在Detroit死气沉沉并不为过.3年前,Tigers更是险些打破Mets保持的120
场的大联盟输球记录,以119场创下美联记录.球队老板Mike Ilitch(拥有Little Caesar
,同时也是Red Wings老板)痛定思痛,于2004年初重金签下前一年世界冠军Marlins的功
臣,捕手及未来名人堂成员Pudge Rodriguez.
在这里说一点题外话,Ilitch这些年来在Detroit颇遭一些棒球迷的非议,原因不外乎他

个人认为目前的趋势有3个特点:
1.房价目前尚未进入大跌的阶段,总体上还维持在一个水平.
图1,2 显示过去的25年整体走势和2005最近变化.有一些上下调整,没有见到强烈的下滑
趋势.
为什么? 原因很简单,密州前几年经济状况和全国平均相比,已经处于落后的地位.经济
上的相对不景气使得在全国房地产市场一片火热的时候,detroit从中获得的房价增长有
限.目前的房价虽然有下跌趋势,但不属于泡沫破裂,所以没有见到整体的价格崩盘.个别
房子出现大的价格落差要具体分析原因.
2. 前景不乐观
后面两张图说明这个问题.一是2000年后工作机会的丧失.二是新建房屋和job gains相
比,仍然过多.
市场有效需求不断降低.虽然总体新房建设在减少,但流失的工作更多.房市价格会不断
拉低.
3.mortgage可能出现大量的default,对房市影响可能不小
图5显示risker mortgage, detroit明显高出全国平均水平,如果最后大批人无法还贷,
房市会被进一步恶化.

on my way home.
Had to stop at a local gas station in Detroit waiting for AAA. It was scary
to see all the local people drive/walk by while waiting...I felt it was so
helpless...
The most interesing part is that a local guy said he is a good person, and
willing to stay with me while I was waiting for AAA. Then he followed me
after I drove away. He waived asking me to stop...Of course, I did not stop

最近总是听到关于Detroit的负面消息，比如经济下滑啊，犯罪率高啊，等等。不知道
各位实际生活在那里附近的感受是怎样的。
还有，大家有没有知道在Detroit的Downtown的附近有短期转租房间的。顺便也推荐个
比较好的居住区吧。

使领馆申请签证是最难的，这应该是真的。此行唯一的目的地国家就是意大利，注定没
得选择，尚存的一丝希望就是但愿不同使领馆的要求不同，也许在Detroit申请签证的
人比较少，要求能够简化。事实证明，在Detroit申请还算简单。无数次研究过
Counsulate of Italy in Detroit网上的签证申请要求，准备的材料如下：
1. 有效护照 这不用说了
2. 申请表 可以从网上下载打印。 网上的表似是扫描上去的，字迹并不是很清楚，
连表格边缘都不齐。要注意的有2点：a) 表格填完后不用签字，要在签证官面前签。如
果你事先签了也没关系，到时再签一次；b) 旅行时间，如果你不确定出发和返回时间
，就前后多留几天。意大利签发的签证是根据你的确切出发和返回时间给的，一天都不
多。
3. 签证费 只收money order, $44，单次、多次入境一样。我签的是30天内返回。
4. 2寸照片一张， 就是交表用的，没有特别要求。最后签证上的照片和护照上的一样
5. 身份证明 有效返美F1签证 |
