【新世紀】我時時感到，自己簡直幸叩秒x奇。少時住在台灣，既沒有趕上「白色恐怖
」的末班車，也感受不到彼岸「文革」的壓力，幾十年下來更是沒遇過任何戰爭，日子
太平到了連我自己都覺得難以置信的地步。一百五十年來，能有多少中國人享得這等好
邭猓刻貏e是戰爭，過去六十年，竟然沒有發生過任何燃及這片國土的大規模戰事，國
史罕見。於是我更難免擔憂，深恐有生之年終得碰上一回祖輩常見的災禍。有意思的是
，如今上網，卻常常見到許多同代人有不一樣的想法；他們不僅不怕戰爭，甚至還渴盼
戰爭。
我老開玩笑說，儘管我們總是自詡「中國人是愛好和平的民族」，但老外要是都懂中文
，看到了我們微博和論壇上那些殺氣騰騰的言論，大概都要以為中國人是世界上最好戰

志明」，那股「順我者昌，逆我者亡」的氣魄，實在懾人。

我感觉是越以前的，感情越含蓄收敛；越往现代，唱得越感情暴露，或者叫热烈，奔放
，热情，炽热，煽情，挑逗，放纵，等等。不仅是唱，演奏也是，我听理查德克莱德曼
的钢琴，陈美的小提琴，马友友的大提琴，都有同样感觉。以前讲究适度，decorum,
decency；现代讲究表现。当然做得好的还是很有decorum和decency，现代人这方面的

都是次要。为什么白人黑人墨人都不号丧呢？实际上不是他们不会，是他们认为那是有
失面子的。原因来自于盎格鲁萨克逊的文化。一个知名的格言就是“men don't cry”
，更有： Proper Anglo-Saxon men don't cry. It's a Latin aberration that can
lead to the breakdown of everything we hold sacred.
还有西人的解释：Weeping in public is a cultural thing. The British and any
country heaily influenced by them (USA, India, etc) don't weep in public and
are against any public shows of affection. They believe in decorum.

这周末又会跟朋友去KEYSTONE，想试试HIKE-TO TERRAINS，又怕被累成狗休息掉大把时
间。看着地图上三个山头DECORUM，NORTH PEAK和OUTBACK都有HIKING TRAILS，控制着
大片TERRAINS。想问问LOCALS或爬过这几条路的雪友们难爬么？比旁边BRECK PEAK8上
顶那一段怎么样？

张过度，有些人尺度小一点，哈哈。我是觉得过度的往往是放纵的，我更喜欢有
decency、decorum、适度的。兽性不是贬义，是中性的，每个人都有动物性和精神性这

You would have done well to stop after the first sentence of your response.
Like I said, I will not debate with you the content of your opinion, only
the timing. In fact, there was a presentation on the Republic of Texas, and
there is "common sense" that it is part of the USA. Yet, no one yelled out
that "Texas is not a country" from the audience. Decorum precludes such
expression at inopportune moments.
