几周前看了几辆 VW 的车，比较喜欢Tiguan，后来觉得可靠性不太有保证，修起来又贵
，所以没买。dealer 发信来问，我就说了我的疑问，他给我回了很长一封信。总结来

1. VW很多技术是从Audi等高档车移植过来的，很多年纪大的人不太理解，导致 JD
Power 等可靠性评价低。
2. 2011年VW做了些调整，降低部件的价格。具体怎么降低的没说，我正等回答。
3. 很多人到 VW trade in的车都是100k以上，然后因为觉得可靠，又都买新的VW。
我自己开 Golf， 2年多没什么问题，很喜欢，但是以后怎么样心里没数。
这个VW可靠性低的reputation都是网上看来的，好像是电子部件容易出问题，机械部件
还好。

本来程序死机，如果实验条件没变，重启接着测就好了，可是他的程序，对实验条件不做控制，每次死机就把实验状态丢了，再测就和以前接不上了，于是人家就只着撞大运，给我的几套数据，都是测了几十遍中偶尔撞上有没死机的结果。他就压根没想去debug，不debug也就罢了，连打补丁都不做，气得我七窍生烟。

分析。顶多加上printf打印一些东西做辅助。这样锻炼下来能提高debug技巧，至少对面
试很有帮助。
当然工作的时候还是用IDE里面的debug step into/step out功能，方便。 |

seg fault直接原因是非法内存访问，实际原因就多了。加debug代码影响结果一般是和
指针操作或者多线程有关。比如一个线程使用一个对象，另外一个delete，同时运行会
访问被delete对象，加了debug代码很可能延后delete时间。具体问题肯定要看什么样
的debug代码。 |

。其实不想离开湾区，觉得nyc就跟北京一样，还破旧，没什么意思，另外搬到东边拖
家带口的也够麻烦的。但是因为的确打算跳槽，所以热热身也挺好，至少能
让自己保持状态。
先和HR的人聊了一次，20分钟吧。然后就是online code test, 2 problems in 2
hours，题可以从网上找到，仔细点就好了。接着1个小时的phone interview，问了
很多问题，数据结构的，算法的，编程的一些细节，os的，有些问题看看150里面有，
尤其是os和系统的问题, process vs thread, sizeof(many data types) in
different OS(32vs64), binary search，分析复杂度。过了就安排onsite了。
因为看到网上说表现不好半道就请出的故事，还是好好准备了一下，以免过早被
轰走丢脸。看了玻璃门和bbs上的面经，觉得还挺难，而且非常杂，外加猎头给的一些

finally and I used it.It depends on the system and compiler.
For exception, I cannot describe it as same as book. However,I think if

其次有log的等级分级，到底是warning还是severe这些
最后一般出问题的都是error
然后error的话，你要看exception的printstacktrace
这样对于你定位问题有很大帮助
其次第二，最好能有一些instant data就是一般人为添加的各种debug info.
你也许没有server的经验
但是你debug过程序吧？
android上都有debug的分级和time point
这个问题也不说难，因为大多数人开始工作，第一件事就是看别人的代码

聊天经常拉人聊天，和各个部门都熟。最近有个项目是我们组负责的，现在他每次有什
么问题就来问我，比如组里有什么API要测试他完全不懂（还装的很懂），中国领导让
我和他一起工作，说让我写文档便于QA理解，我写完就发给他，结果他连看都不看就直
接让我帮写他的 test case，然后他就照着写其他类似的。这两天比较忙，换了个API
他又不会写了，我就让他照着我写的junit test case写（步骤过程都是一样的），结
果他半天没写出来，还说API有问题是个bug要去报告，最后又拉着我花了半个小时帮他
debug（如果我不帮他debug，他去报告就会说我也肯定他的说法），最后发现是他写的
东西错了。结果他马上说是交流沟通有问题，还说这个API太复杂难理解，反正特别能
说借口一套一套的，我感觉真是说不过他。我发现烙印在公司都很能说特别能混，这种
人换成中国人估计早被开除了，但是印度人居然还能一步一步的升职，太不可思议了。

烦透了他，而你在他眼里是你们组唯一的捏得动的软柿子。你应该采取非暴力不合作态
度，让他知道在你这里讨不到便宜，他就知难而退了。
领导要你写文档，你写完了以后应该立刻抄送全组，说你应了领导的英明建议写了关于
API的文档，便于QA以及其他的用户理解，请大家帮忙散发多提意见诸如此类。不要只
给他一个人，不要给他留下借口说你们沟通不好。
要你帮着写测试程序？对不起，你虽然非常乐意帮忙，但是现在有更高优先级的虫子需
要修、更要紧的项目要做。如果他真的需要你帮助，请和你上司商量这个优先级的问题
，让你上司决定你是先完成自己的本职工作还是帮着QA写测试程序。抄送你老板。
他要报告bug？既然横竖都归你debug，你就说既然他认为有bug就报告吧——其实这对
你也是好事，你帮他debug了半天，但他没报告成那个bug，你也就没修成bug，到头来

log然后扔给 vendor去debug和fix。天天都是在帮vendor做debug和测试，跟vendor扯
皮。
干这样的活根本学不到任何东西，对于junior的software engineer和hardware
engineer都是career suicide。如果是software engineer还能换组；如果是hardware
engineer，基本没得地方换，还不如去nvidia/intel等等真正的硬件公司，或者刷题转
软件去amazon等容易接收转行人士的公司，练一两年学到东西再跳更好的软件公司。 |
