i would say dancesport is most popular in three areas
1. europe-british block, include UK, europe, south africa, australia,
new zealand.
2. former USSR block
3. east asia, japan, korea, china
in the highest level, china has passed japan and korea long ago.
don't have data for the popularity or average level of hobbist dancers.
but from what i see and what i hear, dancesport is very popular in china.
which dancers get screen time does not solely depend on their level of

china definitely has a promising future in dancesport. just look at
international gymnastics competitions or figure skating comps - all those
that require a combination of technique (body flexibility, limb coordination
, etc) and art. Russia, east europe and china are always the strongest.
china does not have top dancesport competitors simply because it was not a
tradition. once it has been introduced to china, it'll grow faaaast.

knowledge of the supposedly dancesport dances. standard is analogous to
smooth, while the latin is parallel with rhythm. however, the difference

latin and rhythm is greater, like that guy stated, mainly because three dances

the writing will be geared towards that.
There is no arm movement in international standard, as two people are
constantly in a closed dance position. Therefore, the rest of the writing will

老师是教了个套路，从bronze到gold，各个级别的动作都有。现在准备去参加bronze级别
的比赛，所以就要删掉所有silver和gold的动作，然后看看有没有合适的bronze动作，再
加几个。我们不是请的private instructor，而是参加了本校的dancesport队，所以老师
没有时间给每个级别编一个套路，只有靠自己了，呵呵。好在prebronze和bronze总共就
那么几个动作，看看别人的教学录像，也就能凑合编一个了。
另一方面，我学跳舞的时候喜欢记住每个动作的名字。这样过一段时间，想起名字，也就
能想起动作。 |
