beginning as early as 1600 with the emergence of the Manchu under Nurhaci.

「荒原」太长了，用典太多，很艰涩
不过去弄清楚那些典故及隐喻的用意也满有意思的

发帖数: 72 | 11 刚读完《上海宝贝》，单从文字上讲，算得细腻，一些比喻
也算得新奇，但比起其他上海女作家，如张爱玲，王安忆，
火候差了点。每章开头引用金斯堡米勒凯鲁亚克，仿佛沿用中
国演义小说题头诗的传统，但后者大多不过是落魄文人炫耀诗
艺，前者更多的是給自己贴上前卫的标签(六十年代的东东还
前卫呢:) )，同时也是拉两人壮壮胆。
不过她倒也能活学活用，13章的开头：
“12月，残忍的季节，没有丁香开在百年深深的庭院里，没有美
女裸舞着舞过衡山路Takashi的“Le garconchimis”花园石阶和
描彩游廊，没有鸽子，没有狂喜，没有爵士乐里蓝色的阴影。“
马上想到的便是T.S.艾略特那句酷酷的
"APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain."
但卫慧的文字里透着的与其说是颓废，不如说是一种优越感--颓废
向来不是一般人玩得起的。这也是好些人批评她不真诚的原因。 |

发帖数: 3040 | 14 很惭愧，我自己直到几个月前才第一次认真读了＜Norwegian Wood＞。这本书中传递出
的delicacy, subtlety, sweet sadness... 的确令人印象深刻。我的第一反应是，从
来没有意识到＂青春＂是一件如此残酷的事。作为年轻人，他们可以肆意地挥霍他们拥
有的一切，生命，激情，冷酷，苦闷。。。以至于我甚至有些庆幸自己没有在二十出头
的年龄读到这本书。现在的我正因为看那个年纪有了一定的距离，才可以看得见青春的
整个＂森林＂，而非只见＂树木＂。
It reminds me of the verses from Waste Land by T. S. Eliot:
"APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain."
作家对自己的作品也像父母亲对孩子一样。他们自以为最了解孩子，其实从作品公之于
