A man has been arrested for planning to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank of
New York, according to a federal law enforcement source with knowledge of
the investigation.

买了票进去,时间还早,就着电影院里昏暗的灯光看kindle上的小说,时间就过得挺快
的了,不过眼睛很酸。
看的是恐怖片,conjuring,好像也挺新的,偶一个人看,虽然外面还是明晃晃的大太
阳,电影院里漆黑一片,冷气又足,更加感觉恐怖,我左右都没有人,虽然电影院里
大约有七八成满,算上座率挺高的了。
看到恐怖的时候,偶身体簌簌发抖,还不禁发出了啊的一声。
突然一道白光亮过,然后白光有节奏地持续亮起,并且有警报的声音,看看片子里并没有
警察出现,半天回味过来是电影院的火警响了。这时灯了亮了,片子了停了,按照广播指
令慢慢出去。有人开了边门直接出去,看到门外阳光灿烂。
才出来,就有人说是false alarm, go back。于是大家又回到老地方坐好。
过了十来分钟,从断掉的地方继续放下去。
最后看完电影出来的时候,有几个电影院的工作人员在门口发票子,绿色的信用卡大小的
卡片,上面写着rain check,后面有磁条有编号,随时可以换一张电影票。

刚看到一个部分是关于训练孩子睡眠的。
简单说
一般是从四个月开始,但他们发现其实从两个月开始更加有效。这时间训练孩子独立睡
眠只需要三天。
晚上喂饱孩子时候把孩子扔床上,然后离开不要再打搅孩子,第二天早上再来看孩子。
孩子大概第一天和第二天会哭的比较厉害,第三天第四天就没事了。
具体文章参见下面。因为我对这便不熟悉,觉得有点夸张。他们说的是否真的这么简单
有效。当然,我逻辑上同意他们的说法,越早训练,孩子依赖性越容易摆脱,有可能事
半功倍。但不知道大家看法如何?

父亲节准确地说应该叫“贺曼节”。它其实是贺曼明信片公司和其他公司为了赚钱,用
父爱做幌子假设出来的一天而已。父亲节没有什么不好,但是在我看来,每天都应该是
父亲节,因为,无论你是否喜欢与否,我们每一个人都有自己的父亲。就我而言,我过
去喜欢过父亲节,现在依然喜欢这个特殊的节日。
我的父亲曾经伴随着我成长。我们彼此还算了解,但是了解得还不够深。在我很小
的时候,父亲回到中国开始创业,追求他自己的梦想。对于我来说,我很难接受这个事
实。起先,我以为时间不会太长,也没有那么复杂,父亲只是暂时离开我,过几年之后
他就会永远地回到我的身边。我的想法不对吗?但是我错了,迄今为止,我的父亲仍然
还在中国。
现在,我已经很适应他不在我身边的生活,对未来也不用担心。但是有父亲陪伴在
家的感觉,我再也体会不到了,这件事非常困扰我。事实上,我错过了父亲陪伴我成长
,以及从父亲那里得着教诲的好时光。在那些艰难的日子里,不仅仅是我陷入痛苦之中
,我的妹妹和妈妈也是同样如此。

美利坚合众国第二百四十个独立节之日,重温了一下当时美国立国时杰弗逊起草的《独
立宣言》。
每读一次就不得不再次感慨当时立国之父们的英明及远见。他们在北美这块土地上,抛
弃了大不列颠的君王统治,建立起美利坚这样一个伟大的国家。
一切似乎都是上帝赐予的:这块土地上不仅有雄伟壮观的东部阿普拉契山脉及西部的落
基山脉,而且有着从广袤无际的大草原到美丽宽阔的大海洋,这富绕的土地难道不是一
种恩赐吗?是的,不过上帝恩赐给地球的土地也不仅限于美利坚,算算美利坚的土地面
积,即使现在也只位于全球第三或第四,为何美利坚却成了人们向往的地方呢?
作为移民,也许比这儿生长的美国人有更多的比较。一个感悟是当年《独立宣言》的基

Originally from Taiwan, I am interested in Taiwan itself. To me, the word "
rainforest" conjured up Amazon. Through my years in US, I was surprised tp
learn that Pacific Northwest of United States has a rainforest, including
Olympic National Park--so much rain that the misty rainforest is draped with
moss. See
