graduate student can choose their graduation dates，并不需要一定在degree
conferral之后。由于已经在phd program“浪费”了三年半的大好青春，我想我赶快工
作吧，就定在了1月6号开始工作（opt开始日期也是这个，如果能及时拿到卡），而我
的MS degree conferral date是1月27号。早开始工作也有早点申h1b的考虑，怕申请晚
了错过明年的。结果这两天我同学告诉我，如果在degree conferral date之前入职，
申绿卡时就只能申eb3了，因为入职时还没有拿到master学位。这个是真的吗？有没有
什么解决办法？如果我等到2月才入职，会不会来不及申请最近的h1b？

conferral是5月份，4月1号就要申请h1b了。学校出具了degree certificate letter:
"This letter is to
certify that XXX has completed all requirements to receive a Doctor of
Philosophy in .... from ... university. Conferral date of the degree is May
XXX, 2013....." 这样的情况，能算作CAP H-1B U.S. Master's Degree or Higher 么

USCIS
结果他们还是说我这个timeline不对。。。
我OPT要9月底才能拿到，因为degree conferral是那个时间。。。OPT的话，这样前半

。可是当年上大学的城市已经没有认识的人了。急啊。我倒是有student copy的本科成
绩单和学位证书，能用吗？我写信给dean去问能不能用student copy，dean也不回。真
怀疑他是不是真想招我进去，自从我答应接offer之后发两次email都不回。
另外，contract里面没有明确给我签字的deadline，但这里这个to be received
within 30 days of signing this offer letter, 是指学校需要在校长签字的30天之

conferral date之后。好像如果申请了opt却没能在那之前毕业，会是一件挺麻烦的事

如果课程已经修完，正在准备论文，pre和post都可以full time employment
假如opt是3／1／2012－3／1／2013
post要求在3／1／2013之前答辩，因为I20不能再延期了
pre则可以在3／1／2013之后答辩，i20可以再延期
不知道我的理解对不对，请明白人指教一下

因为我是2014年毕业，在递交140时毕业<3年，学校要求我增加一封信，说明学生时期
的工作是full time research，另外要求我写清楚"full time"的定义。学校要求要有
institutional letterhead。
我自己上网找到USCIS的要求如下：

我是做航空方面CFD的，机翼流场计算，颤振什么的，
这方面工作一般要求有身份， 而 postdoc没有journal
paper是不是基本没戏？
老板建议我做他国内postdoc,等文章发表再想办法，
问题是到国内后再出来是不是更难了。
