我不是什么牛人。高中的理想是做金融或者计算机，结果那年数学家大会在上海召开，数学系突然火的不知所云。就莫名选了数学做本科，06年来美国读统计phd，后来发现几乎所有导师都在做biostat，自己兴趣缺缺。于08年跟系里说暑假开始断了我的奖学金吧。男人么，咱就背水一战釜沉舟的找工作。08年大家也知道，投行PE,VC,HF之类，机会很少很少。后来纯属运气好，阴差阳错被一个保险公司好心收留，开始做了精算。
我是08年当时为了多个选择开始考了两门P和FM，2年过去了，现在也都考完了。说说看法
P：记得P是吃了顿buffet直接去考的，数学系毕业所以没什么好说的，几个兄弟一块裸考。1小出头点做完，哥们几个都是10分。经验是好好自己学门概率论，比P有价值的多。概率论其实很有意思。P是入门的入门，往深了去有些纯概率的brainteaser真的很搞很有乐趣。
FM：利息理论也是金融业的基础了。主线就是DCF。当时也是和1个哥们图书馆坐了3整天研究盗版ASM。2人都拿了8分。这哥们浙大top1，估计他发挥失常。

However, I actually want to use the condensed form for implementation. For V
dyadic W, if both symmetric, we can use 6x1 vectors (v, w) to represent
these two. I calculate the condensed V dyadic W as 6x6 matrix by v*transpose
(w). I think the difference between (2) and (3) is v*transpose(w) VS w*
transpose(v). If condensed V dyadic W is symmetric, I think (2) and (3) can
be interchangable.

circulation. air inside the car is dry from the ac use. water from outside
air is condensing on evaporatoe and over time mold can grow because of this
condensation. water mixes with mold and whatever mold has pooped out, this
is the smell you got.
if you keep using either ac or external circulation, very little
condensation forms and the evaporator (with all the crap on it) stays dry,
so you won't smell anything.

I know for some models of honda civic, radiator and condenser are side-by-
side, in that case the A/C fan won't help to cool down the radiator.
For most cars radiator and condenser are in tendon, in that case you might
be able to pull off with a non-functional radiator fan. |

基本情况，2003 es300
有次开车一整天，天气很热，一直开空调，ac灯亮说让查压缩机
到了一个修车铺查，说是reed valve正常老化。
要换compressor $700
condenser $250
再加上换freon和手工一共1.6k
几个要请教的问题
1.为什么reed valve老化要换condenser？
2.上网查了一下compressor OEM的compressor价格也就两三百，是不是这家店黑？能自
己买个compressor找个修车铺装么？
3.回来之后空调工作又好了，是reed valve老化了但还可以用么？暂时不修，以后再修
会更贵么？自己感觉就最多换整个compressor
也考虑过DIY，不过要vaccum和line，可能还是要修车铺。

发帖数: 1501 | 21 有可能是皮带，可以先检查一下皮带有没有过多的裂痕，是不是紧，如果看起来没什么
问题，有可能是冬天早晨有露水，condensation会使你刚发动的时候皮带有轻微的打滑
，有轻微的噪音，皮带转一阵水蒸发了，这个噪音会比较快消失，你可以观察一下，是
不是露水重的时候有噪音，没什么露水的时候噪音就小或者没有。如果就是
condensation的话，应该是没什么问题的，不影响驾驶，如果要立马解决，把老化的皮
带或者tensioner换了应该就可以。
也可能是pulley的噪音，可以检查一下pulley有没有松动的，发动车之后仔细听听，看
看能不能大概确定是什么地方发出的噪音。
反正先从简单的地方检查，看看能不能找到噪音的来源。 |

发帖数: 864 | 25 发现电池侧面有个口，流掉了大概1/3的酸，尽管测电压能到12V，但估计电流不够。
换了新电池，塑料进气口所有洞都封上了。打火顺利。
空挡依然怠速很低，不给油门会熄火。发现冷却液不够，塑料桶里剩余的被吸干了，看
来是换散热器的时候没加够，家里存的冷却液没了，明天找dealer买。
希望是因为冷却液不够所以熄火，不然就茫然了。

bodyshop$650把radiator的架子给修好了，今天自己装上radiaor，ac condenser没寄
到，就先没装。
第一次启动，打火顺利，怠速情况下发动机震颤，大概五分钟后自动熄火。再次大火，
失败。
jump start顺利启动，挂一档慢速绕小区开了一会儿，停下来，放p档，又自动熄火。
再次打火，失败。
求问大牛，可能是什么原因呢？
1. 如果是电池，后者发电机坏了，会导致自动熄火，或者发动机震颤么？
2. 发动机的塑料进气口有些许裂口，会是因为这个么？
3. 会是因为没装condenser么？ |

refinish 前bumper 和右fender 共$917, 一周过去了对方保险还没有承认liability,
我有录像所以承认只是时间问题。
今天出游在山路上撞了前车落下的轮胎，前车逃之夭夭，因为是山路单行道，没有
shoulder, 后面压了好几辆车，我们没拍照就走了，偏偏行车记录仪没有连接，现在到
家后发现grille 有小断裂，里面的ac condenser(fin)弯了
现在想问的是，我们现在第二次小车祸没有照片，联系自己的保险公司比较麻烦说不定
还要自己出钱， 有没有可能在修第一次车祸的damage时顺带把grille 和里面的ac
condenser 一并修理呢(让第一次事故的对方保险公司付钱), 如果可以，需要和body
shop交代不要把第二次事故的damage写在pricing report上吗? 纯粹是为了避免处理第
二次事故的麻烦。 谢谢! |

turn on the fan and let it run for a few hours.
if it only smell strange shortly after you turn off AC, that is normal. it
is caused by the condensate (actually, I asked my dealer about this). the
smell is gone when the condensate is dried. |

照说本科生得让发考题们认为极其有科研的潜质,才能打败无数硕士生,发考题们才
会直接给本科生offer直攻博士;
看这份简历,我的感觉是
1.本科成绩好,会读书
2.参加了很多国内老师的项目,参加了一些海外老师的暑期短期项目,有些学术锻炼和想
法,但无明显成果,可能人缘好,会来事;但不排除夸大自己作用的可能
3.得了一些奖学金,国内高校基本上成绩好加积极参加学校各项活动,对老师会来事,自
然就能得.
3.英语写的好
4.积极参加各种活动,精力充沛,勤奋,把自己的时间,安排的满满当当的,有废寝忘食的
倾向.
5.非常有计划性和目的性,经过几年奋斗,作为本科学生,已经达到面面聚到的无短板程
度.
作为本科生,这份简历无疑是优秀的;但是却无法直接得出极其有科研的潜质的结论;相
反无数硕士生申请攻博士,由于年龄大一些和工作经历,也许本科成绩绩点低一些,得的
奖学金项目少一些,但是有实践经验,多数还会有1-2篇海外(尽管可能级别和影响不高)

to use consenser with the vococrap. |

好，但操作复杂，虽然一旦设定基本不需要再调整，但一不小心某个钮被动了之后，一

Tape a small patch of film on the ground, and observe which side the water
is on. If it's on the upper side, then it's condensation, and try to reduce
the humidity (again, in most cases, there's not much you can do except

当风扇(in side the condenser)停转的时候,水就从drain pan漏出来到底下的backup
pan.(let me use english now). Even I see water going through the drain pipe
through the trap to the outside, but don't understand why there is so much
water still overflow from the drain pan without going out to the drain pipe.
don't know if I made it clear.Would anybody like share your experience?

个粗粗的圆柱形状的东东)根本不转。这个房子有2个这种condensing units，一个制冷
/制热楼上，一个管楼下。
现在我希望seller换2个全新的HVAC系统，不知道应该怎么说？就说replace 2 brand n
ew HVAC system吗？还是需要同时更换其它的部件？

我有19 supply duct）。我就打电话问，然后他们就派了人来做inspection，然后给了
