Comp back in 1986 is the name. I have to agree this is trash to me
(but could be useful for people below 3.0).
The Spectrum Comp was one nice player's racket that's slightly more
powerful than POG. |

chain Casinos for comp, can you get four stars hotel like Ceasars Palace?
I planned to go too but the ticket price is too expensiv, $400-500. and I
can only get three stars hotel like Ballys and Harrahs for comp stay. So I
decide to go in non-busy season. |

如牛毛，前几年炒作地产，现在大批的SFH便宜得要死，几万就拿下了...这样的地方花
钱住旅馆确实很亏。
同样赌城的AC就差劲很多，象俺是diamond级的时候，也就平时不要钱，周末稍微便宜
些，一年有那么几个周末不要钱而已。
total rewards会员好在Harrahs旗下的赌场遍布全国，所以积分，comp通用。
常去赌场不办个卡，相当于online不要rakeback，你说呢？
反正俺以前去，房间不要钱，再拿些不要钱的礼品卡，礼物什么的，最后用comp
dollars再买堆洗发水什么的，哈哈。 |

1) $40/hr，不上税，起码是相当上税的$60/hr或者120K年薪了，加上冒领失业救济(算
30K吧)，一年算保守算也是150K了。
2) 这还不包括赌场comps，一年2000个小时的话，最保守估计也有4K的价值($2/hr)，
可能还更多。因为比如DE park这样的赌场，你要每天固定打8小时，一个月下来160小
时(周末不算)，肯定可以拿到赌场送的$500奖励，还可以参加月底的15K guarantee
freeroll，据说经常因为参加的人少，所以大家约定直接分钱，起码又是几百刀吧？如
果真打，保不齐那回就拿第一，至少25%的份额，也就是约4K。
3)且不说天天耗在赌场，直接中BBJ，或者间接中的可能性都大大上升，比如AC最近这
次，最差每个人也分了1K。一年打破十次八次太正常了。
4)还有各种赌场常客优惠，比如免费礼物，免费buffet，购物卡，老虎机卷...，林林
总总，苍蝇也是肉，一年下来算1K不过份吧。
5)其他没想到的。
所以，总共算160K+的实际收入，水分不大吧？

就像打牌一样，任何 style 都可以赚钱，但炒垃圾跟玩 lag 一样，想长期稳定赢钱，
对选手要求太高，不是一般同学能玩的。
想赌就去赌场，几千快钱好好 blackjack 打几小时没问题，赚的 comp 说不定赌场还
请你吃碗乌东面什么的，放股市什么 comp 都没有，还要付 commission， 太不合算。
所以聪明人不会在股市赌。 |

this year's national will be very special because my parents will go with me
for the first time. we're taking a week off after the competition. i'm excited
about the trip but there's so much to do before we leave both at work and at
home to be ready for our vacation. of course there's the last minute training
for the comp. don't know if it's a good idea to combine parents' visit, a big
comp and family vacation at the same time... too mu |

blame the judges so quickly:p
i know alan and kelly. they're very nice people. they've been travelling a lot
for comps since last year; i'm so envious. even though there're methods like
your coaches used to train floorcraft, i still believe it's largely dependent
on your own comp experience. the more often you dance in that environment, the

with over 11500 entries. OSB was the first one with 15000+ entries.
Max and Julia beat Andrei/Elena again in Latin. Victor/Ann won Standard.
Smooth/Rythm is kind of boring. Top dancers like Toni/Ben Ermis/David Weiss
are all missing from the comp.

the comp, and often, it will be further broken down into A1, A2, etc (where
A1 could be 16-20, A2 = 21-25, etc, but it varies a lot by the comp) |

there is all amateur categories at NDCA comp, but unless the comp in one of
those near NYC (such as Manhattan Championsihp, Maryland, etc), the amateur
event is very low quality......mostly the same crowd who did pro/am will
dance amateur with another student from their studio or with her husband or
his wife, etc. Not worth it. |

we were super late for the comp, 10 min before our session was about to
start. then in the last min, my partner found out he forgot to bring his
latin shoes! in a hurry, he borrowed a pair from our teammate, and we
jumped into the comp, dancing the chacha for the last 5 sec. the shoes
appeared far too big for him, and he could barely keep his balance on the
floor...eventually, in Jive, he decided to kick off his shoe |

the double pump one
starting two days before the comp.
shower, exfoliate, apply a thick layer. wait for it to dry.
careful, the lotion stains clothes, towel, sheets
get an instant bronzer for the comp day. to cover up areas that don't
get enough tanning, like back of the neck, behind ears.
i use l'oreal instant bronzer, mousse like, with a pump.
people usually don't tan face or don't tan as hard
so match your foundation to the color of your tanned body.

there're quite some discussion of tanning in various circles on the web
you can do some search first
for a beginner, i think coppertone is good. just be sure to buy the
darkest color (highest concentration of DHA)
no matter how much you tan before hand, you always need
an instant bronzer at hand on the comp day. and most
of the time you'll need the paint on. the loreal one i got is medium.
worked fine, but i should have gotten the dark one.

the choreography for students. Back then they were finalists in most of the
comps in the west coast, in both std and latin. These days they dont have
any coach in the area and have schools to tend to, but I still think they
dance better now, because of the accumulation of experience/practice and the maturity that came with age.

It is from the same producer of Blackpool comp videos. It looks you need to
setup an account and buy tickets to watch - 12.5 UK pounds per comp. As of
today, 10.00 UK Pounds = 19.69 US Dollars. It is of course always more
economical if you want to wait till next year to buy DVDs from china. But
watching latin-pro-final live from webcast is for sure exciting. I am not

I think the answer is pretty obvious: unless you have been placing in pre-
champ champ of major comps, there is no need to pay huge money to get the
same information, not to mention great dancers may not necessarily be great

comps at your level too. that's what we do because we don't live in the
hotbed of dancesport either. other amateur dancers might compete every month
or every other month, we did two a year (later a couple more). and i have a
girlfirend who does 1-2 pro-am comps a year because that's what she can
afford. not ideal but it worked out fine |

go to a comp coming in three weeks. so we practiced on three saturday
afternoons. we got into the gold final (6 out of 20 couples?). that was my
first and only comp in my life till now, hehe. then i had to temporarily

very snippy and arrogant。每周都被她欺负喔。。。都不说一天时间让grading 180
exams, 还说you should do whatever a prof ask you to do no matter how budy
you are...干活一点不满意就开始yelling to me...一次此变态女知道是我office
hour时间还非要我在教室里查学生作业，结果一个学生去没找到我发信问她是不是找错
房间了，结果此女写信严厉的质问为什么office hour不在，还CC给系里别的教授。。
。类似的事好多喔。。。虽然咱们都是有中华民族优良传统。。。但真的不想忍了。。
。但不忍又能怎么办呢？找自己老板告状？又怕她知道后论文答辩什么的又要被她折腾
。。。
去年她给我们带过一门seminar的课，因为我们真的觉得她教的非常不好，最后给她评
的满不好的。。不知道她是不是在报复呢。。怎么我就这么倒霉又摊她手里了。。本来
