你们看过law and order这部电视剧吗？就算没看过，我在纽约public defender

是circumstancial evidence，没有任何direct evidence。如果在美国，就凭现在这些证
据，早就够美国警察监视、审讯无数次了。早就足够检察官起诉了。而且很多时候，检
察官起诉是进一步挖掘direct evidence的办法。没办法，事实总是要靠挖掘的。警察

Toddler天然就会解读周围人的表情，别的toddler难过了哭泣，他会试图安慰或加入。
教堂从建筑风格上，就是凸显人渺小，神伟大。用大高度的内部和向上飞升的拱来加剧
压迫感，神秘感。一走进去，基本就把你心理降噪，还有lighting, music，painting
等等共同作用prime来访者的心理，容易接受暗示。
这时候看到雕像上的悲苦，激发悲天悯人的同情心就顺理成章了。
然后，很多人就把这种感动当作神示了。
其实和红卫兵见主席痛哭流涕，激动异常一个原理。是逐渐的情绪的引导和堆积，最后

，冷酷。当然，批判是明显的：有钱人的招摇、冷漠、虚伪，最关键的，everything
is build upon a big lie & lies that coming after it, 但对于这个人物，伍迪艾
伦绝对是构筑了怜悯的元素在其中的。她被牙医骚扰，被儿子抛弃---BTW儿子就是这个
虚伪阶级的完美继承人啊，还有她本来不是这样的人但进入这个阶级以后谎言就成为了
生活的惯性等等，都是令人同情的地方。She wasn't born that way, 这个现代版的布
兰奇不是没有优点，她自己的话说，虽然有些东西是谎言，但她的品味、幽默感、教养
依然是真的。这个故事归根结底不是对这个女人的严酷批判，而是将一个人怎么被生活
摧毁的过程解构。这个巨大的讽刺之所以成功，我们的现代布兰奇必须是个可怜人，可
恨的可怜。
伍迪艾伦对这个人物的批判的确远大于怜悯，但这个故事的整体，还是极具compassion
的，他建立了一些非常真实的东西，对黑暗的洞察力犀利如昔。

向care about the person。compassion是一种介于理解和同情之间的感情，或许中文
是心有戚戚焉。
这种care在主人公的情况和境遇遇到改变，变得不利以后，感觉会增强。读者和观众会
更进一步的关切，觉得真是揪心。
模式：一个让人有着同情遭遇的主人公 + 一个和他/她个性完全不融的环境中
例子：
1. 大长今有着和别人不一样的童年，是一个招人喜欢的小女孩，可是，她被送到宫里
了。
2. 许文强本来有着一个普通的家庭，只是突然被人破坏了，很让人同情，他，一个原
本普通的人，于是决定来到上海滩的黑社会报仇。（我们很揪心，他到底会怎样，斗的
过一个黑帮老大吗？）
3. 哈利波特是一个可怜的小孩子，没有父母，还受到叔叔婶婶的虐待长大，有一天，
他突然被送到了魔法学校。（我们既担心这个孩子，又为他高兴，不知道在魔法学校的
奇遇会让他的生活怎样变化。）
总结：可怜身世 + 环境突变 |

特的单相思我看得很投入，感觉他不仅敏锐，而且对己对人都富有compassion。我们一
个文学老师曾说好的作家一定有一种pathos，中文对应词难找，他勉强翻译成悲悯。我
觉得就是compassion、同情心，并且完全附议。 |

我自己有经验，以前没有GPS开车，带个指南针，在车里根本没法用，因为磁针只要靠
近金属就被吸引过去，不管是车门还是方向盘。我只能停下车到空旷的地方才能找到方向
要是地下就是大铁矿，或者在某到处都是铁管道的工厂内部，那compass就彻底变砖了 |

德州休斯顿地区当地时间21日下午，有四家银行在四小时内相继遭歹徒持枪抢劫得手。
其中有两家Wells Fargo, 一家Chase, 一家BBVA Compass银行，所幸没有发生人员伤亡。

Somehow I decide to buy a watch with compass feature for hiking.
But I end up purchasing a timex expedition watch without compass,
the exact model I had before.
The watch has long gone so the time I had been wearing it.
I know it is stupid even to think that I can preserve something just by
getting the same model of watch.
But can't help do it for life is so boring to be sane all the time. |

从基督教的角度讲，到底什么是Justice？上帝给了以色列人摩西法典，守法的上帝会
保佑他们，凡是违法的上帝都要惩罚。但是上帝在惩罚罪人时并不好受。
