I finally find out what your tree--and flowers--is.
(1) I consider many possibilities.
One was the original posting was a hoax. I live in Boston, Massachusetts. On
the assumption that late April in Boston is about late October in Sydney,
Australia, I found it hard to believe that trees are so green in Sydney, let
alone flowers in bloom. (In boston, leaves change color and started falling
in mass about mid-October.)

Burning

(4) Hydrocarbon combustion: CnHm + O2 --> CO2 + H2O
For chemical industries
C + 2H2O --> CO2 + 2H2 or (using methane)
