发帖数: 301 | 9 周四面试的，C1招人还是挺狠的，中午到公司的时候看到一帮上午面试BA,OA和DA的，
大概2,30个。面试Statistician的只有6个人，5个都是同胞。
标准流程，2个case, 1个role play,1个behavioral. Role play就是精华区那个
airline的model,问了下别人也是，很简单。Behavioral也很普通，3个问题，1. How
did you collaborate 2. Example of innovation, 3. How did you learn sth new.
出来后和大家聊case,发现可能case是换新的了，至少和以前完全一样的的case基本没
有。听到的比较类似的是比如C1和walmart合作推出walmart信用卡，问pros and cons,
给了一些条件求break even market share并问是否doable.
我就比较悲剧了，两个case都没见过，第一个是关于debt write-off，比如现在

发帖数: 100 | 10 找工作结束，onsite面过G，F，M，最后拿到G的offer，碰上的题大多数都是老题，而
且不难。我碰上的有点难的，而且没见过的题，我在最后列出来。
我总体的感觉是准备题只是一个基础，大家还应该注意沟通和表达能力。面试官如果问
我们会的题，争取做到communication方面不会扣分。比如说，面试官给你一个题，多
数情况他们会故意把题说的比较含糊，然后让你主动来问问题clarify，而我们有的时
候会主观的加一些假设，来向我们会的问题上靠。
等把面试官的题意弄清楚之后，我们一般会选一种数据结构来解这个问题，但是面试官
如果问你为什么选这个数据结构，我们应该解释清楚，或者面试官会暗示你这个数据结
构他认为不对，我们应该能够随机应变，说出他想要的。
数据结构和算法确定了以后，写code应该是bug free的，有bug会make a big
difference
写完code，最好在板上演示一个简单的例子，这样也能帮助我们找到bug。
最后一般都会问时间空间复杂度，我觉得最好先跟面试观clarify一下N代表什么。我是

我拿到设计题，一般是这样切入：谁是用户？设计流量是多少？大致的use case有哪些？
可惜最近的onsite都没有拿到理想的title. 理由是对ambiguity的clarify和take hint
不够。前者还有的讨论，后者真是打破头都想不通。我已经尽量征求面试官意见了呀
自己反省，是不是还应该问一下硬件和资金上有什么样的限制？多举几种可能的解决方

的programming language刷。个人感觉面试做题其实不完全是你写的code能不能
compile，能不能过所有的testcase，面试是一个跟人交流的过程，对方是在考虑这个
candidate是不是能跟自己，还有自己的team合作。一个什么都不问，听完题目， 甚至
题目都没有听完就开始敲code，或者在白板上开写的candidate绝对不是一个好的
candidate。一个好的面试过程应该是能让对方知道你的thinking process，你写code
的习惯，还有你跟teammate沟通的能力。有人说只要我写出bugfree对方能不让我过么
，这个还真不一定。一个是很难背熟150题，另外一个是如果面试官认真准备过他的题
，总能找到一些办法让你做一些extension。

发帖数: 122 | 16 更新一下，今天的心情就像过山车，昨天给ISS发了USCIS的文件，跟他们说我eligible
，一早上收到ISS邮件说不给办理，学校明文规定必须一年之内答辩，不然不给extend
i-20。我又回复重申uscis在2013年的policy memorandum并且告诉很多学校已经update
学校policy和USCIS一致。焦急等待iss回复的同时，又找了advisor帮我打电话给iss
（他在出差，答应明天再打），同时又在iss网站上看到有一个工作人员是中国人，加
了她fb要了email地址，再次给她发邮件重申policy（我都想直接邮件给director了）
到底是中国人互相帮忙，她立马回复我，然后说他们会跟director开会商议再回复我。
焦急滴等待几个小时后，iss终于给我回复说会给我办理，并且发了uscis的条款。贴上
来分享一下：

发帖数: 4844 | 19 这个主要就是给DE filter用的。原则上是不用换filter和滤网的。不过俺的那个滤网
已经有几处破了，俺是换了滤网的（也不贵）。不换的话只要彻底clean一下应该是可
以的。
压力变低不是俺期待的。因为怕压力不够，泳池原来的那些设备不工作了。
好处主要是这东西没有DE那么messy，可以降解成普通的土，而且量只要DE的1/8到1/5
，使用存放都方便了很多。价格彼此没大差别。网上有抱怨换了后水有一种味道的，说
是不能和某种clarifier一起用。不过俺反正从来不用什么clarifier,所以不是俺的问
题。
换了后过滤效果俺没发现有任何变化，水都是一样的crystal clear.
使用的时候虽然吹嘘不需要和水搅匀再倒入skimmer里，俺发现还是搅匀之后滤网上糊
得才更均匀。
唯一一个坏处是back wash几乎没用，你得打开手工冲洗。因为滤网上薄薄的一层糊得
太结实。不过俺以前DE back wash也不好，所以俺不介意这个。再说一年也就需要换两
三次吧，不是个事儿。 |

LPR status and their spouses. Under the current system, employees with
approved LPR applications often wait many years for their visa to become
available. DHS will make regulatory changes to allow these workers to move
or change jobs more easily. DHS is finalizing new rules to give certain H-1B
spouses employment authorization as long as the H-1B spouse has an approved
LPR application.

我只是说“大家都打电话”去找他不可取。特别是已经clarify了的事情（比如不会
double counting），如果群情激昂兴师问罪更没有必要。
事情的起源是NIU 公布了跟他的最新对话。对于这个对话的理解，我坚持认为部分网友
过分解读了。如果再仔细读，整个对话完全就是针对EB2C的，EB3C根本就不在context
里面。把 double counting强加进来完全是想太多。
我理解的对话：
第一段是说2 可能会有惊喜（至少不会有< 3 weeks的突发事件）。第二段是重复他跟
uscis每个月都有高层对话，对2 现在和可能的inventory有了解。另外暗示Q1 EB2C是
用够了quota的。 That's it.
另外可以透露一下，NIU的志愿者和理事会已经根据奥本的回复起草了回信的draft，正
在最后综合意见的阶段。我们上周和本周对如何推进放水有很详细的讨论，几十封讨论
邮件，对如何写第一封信， 如何继续追问制定了一个剧本。
