The same issue happens for hydrate. Financial support is very important for technology developement. At the begining, most of the technology may be high in cost, but later on, when new methods are developed, the cost may be decreased. So it's inappropriate to judge at the starting phase whether a technology is promising or not.

or TAG, so if we can't put the villain on gunshot draw on the flop, we have
to call him down, you were just unlucky. If we fold on either turn or river,
we will lose lot of equity, the villain chould have missed flush draw,
missed straight draw (9T), or total air, on the river he may thought you
