冲突的最后阶段的称呼。由于乍得军队利用丰田卡车增加其机动灵活性对抗利比亚军队
而得名。1987年的战争使得利比亚军队遭受极大损失。根据美国的统计，利比亚损失了
十分之一的部队，7500名士兵死亡，价值15亿元的军事设施被摧毁或俘获。

本次战争因为利比亚领导人卡扎菲拒不承认乍得总统哈布雷的合法性，并于1983年
占据乍得北部而开始。利比亚支持乍得的“民族团结联合政府”来以武力推翻哈布雷。
但是这项计划由于法国的干预而被打断。法国军队将利比亚军队抵挡在北纬15度线以北
。那里是乍得最荒芜的沙漠地带。
1986年，乍得“民族团结联合政府”开始反对利比亚，利比亚失去了在乍得军事
存在的理由。哈布雷认为统一全国的机会来到了，就与当年12月命令自己的军队越过北
纬16度线，与正在提贝斯提高原和利比亚军队作战的“民族团结政府”军队会师。几星
