从地下走的。中国人做饭油烟重，想着要么装个island hood或者干脆把炉子移到靠墙
的边上。据说ISLAND HOOD不贵，两千刀左右够了。但如果把炉子移到靠墙的边上，有
人知道大概要花多少钱吗？这个跟重新装修厨房是不是差不太多了？
就想知道价钱是否值得下OFFER.急等。 |

The commute door-to-door is less than 1 hour for most.
LIRR stops in Penn Station now, but by 2016, it would also makes stop in
Grand Central. It would be the most convenient commuter rail line. It would
also increase the re-sell value of your house. I just bought a house in
Great Neck. There are plenty of houses in GN that are in the $700K - $1Mil
range. The school system there is also one of the best. The train ride

and LI. Houses in good areas in all these 3 places cost about the same.
Schools and taxes are also similar. But the deciding factor for us was Great
Neck's approximity to Flushing. Being closer to Flushing helps my life in
countless ways. We could get a commuting nanny who could take bus to Great
Neck from Flushing for only 30-40 mins. And of course, all those great
chinese restaurants in Flushing...

Grand Central. Westchester will fit them best. Scarsdale can get them under
1 hour commute door to door. Chappaqua is just 15 minutes further.
WC has top schools, easy drive to most places like airports, flushing. Its
population is less condensed than NJ. The drawbacks are lack of good Chinese
restaurants, old houses, high property values, and in turn high property

发帖数: 6474 | 22 我给大家讲一讲。我最近自己安装的。新房，建筑商把central vacuum roughed in，
就是把管道从房间通到crawl space了，但是在crawl space里面还没连接起来。从
amazon买来吸尘的主机，大约不到400块，从当地买来PVC管道，2寸的专门为中央吸尘
用的，还从当地买来30尺长的软管在家里面用的，总共500美金吧。主要是在crawl
space里面连管道有点费劲，不过也就是两三个小时的活。
中央吸尘器一般不会堵，如果不吸大的纸片之类的东西。在管道设计上，进口都是弯脖
，要堵一般堵在这地方，很容易把堵物钩出来。反正是注意一下就好了，大于1寸的，
在吸尘之前捡一下（本来用普通吸尘器也要这样，否则也会堵）。
家里地板多的，用中央吸尘很方便。地毯多的话，最好另买一个接中央吸尘的电动滚头
，这样能吸的彻底，那个很贵，300-500美元不等。 |

我用central vac几年了还是很不喜欢。重绝对是一个缺点，而且一堆管子盘在地上也
影响清理和走路，用完了还要花时间整理管子。就因为这个问题，如果家里有一小点脏
的，我都是忍忍就算了。
你要是用过好的canister vac，就不会说上没有见地的话了。给你推荐一个我用牌子，

forced air，但是furnace坏掉了，所以conduct都是现成的。现在想装新的furnace，
顺便把central air也装了，都是装在地下室。想请教班上的xdjm以下几个问题:
1.需要装多大BTU的furnace/多大BTU的AC？
2.什么牌子比较好？
3.大概花费多少？
4.请帮忙推荐NJ附近好的contractor

室用
但是那天有人来看furnace，说attach在furnace的那个humidifier是central
humidifier，一直在运行
那现在如果同时用humidifier和dehumidifier，是不是会很搞笑？
一直想买个moisture meter测量地下室的湿度，但是search到的都是测量土壤的湿度的
，有没有测量房间湿度的一起推荐一下？谢谢了 |

不能这么看。central vacuum平均寿命都是20年，管道寿命更长，都属于房子的
permanent improvement，卖房子的时候会增加房子的价值。所以最终的拥有的成本不
见得比你200刀的吸尘器贵多少。而它的吸力比200刀得强太多了。你可以安心地用很多
年，然后卖房子的时候收回成本，其实很划算 |

multi-level house, I can say for sure it's cumbersome to lug these around my
house. I also store them in the garage because they are ugly so buying more
won't help (btw I consider them very costly). That's why I got a Dyson as
well.
I can understand why for newer houses central vac is not as popular as it
should be given how long it's being on the market.

如果吸力正常，说明所有的管道seal还很好，你就不用担心。如果你的central unit有
问题，换一个全新的也才几百。 |

挤在一起抬头看时刻表，track一出来就像开了圈的羊 挤压冲啊的 , ceiling 不知道
有没8feet，憋屈的哟。 grand central 目测200 feet的 high ceiling 美换绝伦。等
车的时候还能去苹果店上上网。
就凭这点就值得买westchester county NY和fairfield county CT的房子了，可是这边
中国人很少啊，都找不到玩伴。大纽约/曼哈顿上班的来这边看看房子吧 环境很好的
房价也不贵 70 80万就能买到大house了 |

auto, 我选择的是auto.
空调是关闭了, 也就是说既没有冷气, 也没有暖气.
