“极权主义”(totalitarism),至邪至恶也,人人诛而伐之。当代艺术,极尽风光,至
尊至贵也。拍卖行里锤声起落,动辄几百万、几千万美元一件,被收藏而去。各式各样
的当代艺术双年展、博览会,每年在全世界数十个地点隆重开幕。还有无数的当代艺术
博物馆,也在全世界到处开张。人们怎么也不会把这两个概念连带在一起。
但法国文化学者、艺术批评家让-菲利普•多梅克(J.-Ph. Domecq),却在他
的一本叫《没有艺术的艺术家》(1994)的书里,公然把当代艺术比作一种“极权主义意
识形态”。(1)如此把“当代艺术”,与“极权主义”相连,若非苦大仇深,冤情似海
,人们一般不会做如此激烈控诉的。那么让我们来看看,多梅克笔下,当代艺术的“极

喜乐与亮光
经文: 「散布亮光是为义人;预备喜乐是为正直人。」(诗篇九七︰11)
在艰难困厄的环境中持守公义正直,需要付出昂贵的代价,但最终却有丰富的
报偿与回收。过圣洁的生活有如一个人在撒种,撒出去一大把,却都埋在土里,看不见
也收不回来。我们常困惑,为何敬虔度日,但对人的影响却没有什么明显的效果,会有

我是觉得,如果先说清楚了那是以后要搬走的,那就没有问题了。从心理的角度来说,
预先就把基础弄松了,建筑物再强大,学生也不会把那当成可以使劲依靠的对象。
但是,我看很多的教法,都是光说那是正见,不讲以后程度高了要搬走。我个人觉得,
师傅内在其实有个想建立徒弟信念的想法,想增强信的力量。
然后,会按照你一样的想法去做,“好”的执着,代替了坏的执着。这个结果,我们都
认可的。但是对其中的过程,我就多了一重考虑。因为那之所以能搬走,其实“好”的
执着的力道,要比坏的执着的力道要强了。
如果一个徒弟很有慧根,能发能收,那就没有问题了。但问题就是,没有预先说好那是
不可以依靠的,所以徒弟在过程中,其实早就靠上了。靠是大多数人的习惯,没什么可
靠,心里会不踏实。没有见到空性之前,大家都觉得有靠是天经地义的。
那下面的步骤,怎么才能把这次造成的副作用排除呢?是什么来提醒那个徒弟有此必要
的呢?
还是要依赖师傅。这,也就是为什么在开始的时候,不仅要培养徒弟对佛法信,还要培

有种说法叫不破不立,我却有种说法叫不立不破。所以心思缜密的放下,可能并不一定
能象你说的那样,一股脑都是“幻”就能破了的。当然,我挺理解,初步的粗略破确实
是那样子破的,但是到细微的程度,那样破就不够了。
不立不破,也就是说你如果连拿起来的本事都没有,在那里空谈什么已然放下了,那是
空谈大话了。这个空谈的空可不是空性的空哟,而是好比一个赚不来钱的人,在那里吹
嘘说如何勘破金钱一样的。
所以从本事来说,要会抓取,也能知道何时放下那抓的手,才能应对自如。我之所以前
面那番细致的讨论是以求教的方式提出来的,就是因为我只会推开“正”与“信”,还
做不到对此运用自如。
“只有influence,没有control”,说得很好!对于为目标而努力和执着目标的结果这
两者之间的分开会很有帮助。
这段写完,发现在讨论的主要是为了“证”了,而不是为了“悟”。谢谢你引起的提醒

倘若大丈夫不能力挽千钧,除暴安良,那就应该像约翰纽曼这样勇于追求真理,有着“
道之所在,虽千万人吾往矣”的气概。记得中学里读辜鸿铭的文章,辜鸿铭写过一本书
,叫做《中国牛津运动》,把当时的两江总督张之洞比作英国的约翰纽曼,从此“牛津
运动”这个词就在我的脑子里有了印象。很可惜,出了这位顽固保守不开化不肯剪掉辫
子的辜鸿铭的文章,我并没有在其他任何中文书籍里看到“牛津运动”的相关内容。
十多年后的今天,我又和“牛津运动”邂逅了,再一次地,我遇到了这位执着渊博的纽
曼主教。纽曼曾经是一位英国国教会(圣公会)的牧师。在经历了很长时间的属灵思考
和笔记(see his Tract系列,纽曼的心灵之旅)之后,他于1845年皈依了罗马天主教
,逐年地担任了神父、主教、枢机的职务。那个时候,虽然离开亨利八世已经三百多年
了,但是英国依旧普遍充斥着对天主教有强烈反感。纽曼的皈依之旅是非常坎坷的。他
