white/caucasian和african，asian，latino等并列，波斯人阿拉伯人确实可以选white
/caucasian，南亚次大陆的印巴人已经被明确划定为asian。
实际生活中，white仅限于指称欧洲裔白人，你身边如果有美国长大的波斯人或阿拉伯
人，问问他们，他们会自认是caucasian，但不是white。

留学美国，不是一个人的故事能够概括的，何况很多有着辛酸与成功经历的
predecessors早已对这一话题有过充分的阐述。比如，某个女博士用7年时间从某理工
科PhD转到Law School读JD，最后找到理想工作，但却失去了爱情，逝去了青春的故事
；以及某个十万男，拿着滕校学位，经历各种竞争淘汰，拿到华尔街某银行高薪工作后
，发现蛋疼，生不出孩子，老婆吵着要离婚的故事；当然，也还有某高材生，被骗回国
，拿着空头支票，后悔不已，遂跳楼自尽的故事；还有多年前发生在本校的某孤僻天才
怪男，打手枪，和自己的中国师弟，以及美国教授同归于尽的故事。
我来美国才一年半，尽管租了房，买了车，总算适应了Iowa City这个中西部小城的生

的选项就是white、African/black、American Indian/Alaska Native、Asian、
Hawaiian/Pacific Island、Latino。里面根本就没有caucasians，你说让你们这些确
实知道caucasians和white的区别的老美，给犹太人和哈萨克斯坦人选哪个？还是他们
一看没有caucasians就晕了，直接没法选，而拒绝填表？或者到联邦法院起诉联邦政府
种族歧视没有给他们适当的选项？ |
