普通人进不去应该指的是NRA里面如Reflection Canyon这样的偏远景点吧？
另外，看到上面的回复，顺便提一下Capitol Reef的景色非常棒，只是因为公园开发的

清晨很早就起来了。在旅馆附近转了几分钟。非常清净的环境。朝霞非常漂亮。

吃过早餐后，出发来到著名的Bryce Canyon。这里景色异常精彩，鬼斧神工的杰作。我
们走了据说是世界第一的远足路径，的确名不虚传。

回程的路上，经过也属于Bryce Cannon 的 Moosy Cave。附近有个小镇 Tropic。以前
每年有三个多月这里没有水。这里看到的小瀑布，是近两百年前，小镇的居民，用手建
筑的人工溪流，将十多英里外的湖水引进来，供生活用。很难想象当时是如何艰难的工
程。

头一次得知可以从西侧横穿Sierra登顶Mt Whitney是去年春天和petertom一起hiking的
时候听其约莫提起， 心甚向往，只是当时对backpacking所知为零， 只能让这根草慢
慢生长。 而John Muir Trail 早就在我计划top list之中， 今年开春的时候开始为夏
季长途旅行做计划， 便多封email往返， 力诱身在国内的山谷风返美一同行走 ， 一

11/10 天气比昨天又晴了一些，港口在一个工业区，我们坐的是luck lady的，比上次在
molokini的船稍为大一点。
我们站在船头，一路浪花飞溅，时不时就是大群的飞鱼从水里面跳出来，在水面上面滑翔
一段，或者像打水漂般掠过水面。可惜很难照下来，最好的一张照片上面也仅仅是飞鱼留
下的水花。
过了一阵船上有人大叫：海豚！大概有接近10只海豚在我们的船周围，船长很快就减速，
任海豚在我们船的周围嬉戏。
在海边还看到了几只海龟上来换气，比上次在wailea海边turtle town看到的多很多，可
惜不是在这个地方snorkeling。水很深，但是很清，可以一直看到海底的礁石。
这里有个美国空军基地，据说有很多导弹，有时候还会发射。我们看到一架飞机反复飞起
来，又降落。

发帖数: 18873 | 22 上周末，到了Will Rogers 公园，走了一小段Santa Monica 山脉的backbone trail再
插到Rustic canyon。在三月份，半山腰的灌木会有密密白花。现在五月中，只有仙人
掌还开着。山脊上走，海风吹着，天上有只黑色大鸟乘风盘旋，以为是乌鸦，但翼展太
大点，飞稍近点可以看到它的红脑瓜，原来是秃鹫！没等换长焦镜头，风大了，这家伙
就顺风远远的飞走了。唉，还是阿狸獺人品好啊，那秃鹫吧吧地站路边摆pose随她拍。未
及我做深刻检讨，一个漂亮的蝴蝶飞过眼前，停不远的灌木上，凤蝶！在la可不多见。
拍了几张照片，凤蝶飞起，飞到旁边灌木，又惊起了一只小点的红色蝴蝶。
下了山坡，到了rustic canyon， 30年代有几个纳粹同情者在里建房避世而居。留下的
废墟被涂鸦爱好者涂了个爽，墙上，屋顶一点空地儿没剩下。
回去的路边有只鹿安静的吃着草，不理道路上的车来车往，很淡定。

Topanga 是西边（Santa Monica Mountains）离大家最近的爬山之地了，海拔较低，山
势较缓，主要看海景，现在这个季节山谷里还比较绿，也有些溪流。这次想走 Hondo
Canyon 到 Saddle Peak 的一段（localhikes上风景评级为五星），trailhead 参考
localhikes 网页：

计划沿这条道一直走到 Saddle Peak 然后沿原路返回，总共约8.5mi，爬升1900ft。

做了大半天的research，终于选出来一条比较符合大家期望的trail。时间初步定在本周日（12/7）。
1、Trail简介：
为了确保能看到很好的风景和眺望海边，这条trail大部分路途会在山脊上走，部分地区有树荫遮蔽，部分地区可能晒一些，这是没办法的选择，无法两全了。

2 days trip ,Sat and Sun.
Start from Jun. 8 or 15 or 22, depends on the availability of the camp site.
My plan is as follow :
We will have 2 car and enter the canyon from the south and north then exchange
the car keys besides the Colorado river.and get together near north of Grand
canyon.
It is about 7 hrs' drive and 6 hrs' hike per day.
The whole hiking route is 23.5 miles,assume 2 miles/hr at average.
Now I have 4 poeple but I will reserve 8 and I think I can find them. |

了两个选择：
1. 直接交罚款（好像200+）
2. 上一个Defensive Driving course，可以online。可以免除points，费用总计大概
300不到一点。
小妹住北卡，原本打算雇个律师把这事搞定，这样points也免，罚款也少交。在网上随
便找了一个出事地的律师咨询，那律师说没有其他律师会对这种小case感兴趣。有没有
AZ的大拿给点建议，谢谢啦。
PS：小妹只是在AZ旅游一下而已，以后也不会再去了，如果直接交罚款，这个points会

我去和回来的路上都碰上警车。而且去的时候不幸中招，吃了张speeding ticket。
准备去上defensive driving class，居然要128刀，（在德州能在报纸上找到coupon
只要25刀。）不知道在arizona的朋友能不能找到这样的coupon. |

我要在Phoenix呆一天半，主要想去些museum了解一下Native American的art and
culture。目前计划去Heard Museum和Desert Botanical Garden，可能去Mesa

Valley Rock Art Center和Challenger Space Center of Arizona。想问问大家觉得这

另外从Phoenix到Williams一天，打算沿着17号开，转到Cottonwood 沿着SR-89A Byway
到Sedona。Sedona想去一下Red Rock State Park和Slikde Rock State Park，不知道
